The Feisty Fern is a falsifloran in Pikmin 5. The Feisty Fern resembles a regular Flukeweed, but it has small, red eyes at the very end of its stalk. When disturbed, the Feisty Fern will unfurl, straightening out completely, and slam its stalk onto the ground. This does not crush Pikmin underneath but will catch them on the sticky stalk. It will then curl up again, slightly moving left to right as it digests its prey in a similar manner to a sundew. The only Pikmin it can not reach with its slam are Winged Pikmin, which are its weakness; 5 Winged Pikmin can lift the Feisty Fern out of the ground in the same manner as the plant it imitates, though it can shake them off if there are only a few pulling it. The Feisty Fern will then be exposed and reveal its small legs as it runs around at great speed and knocks over Pikmin. Usually, the Feisty Fern will eventually fall over while running, making it easy to attack, but it will eventually get up and jump into the ground, burrowing to its initial location and becoming stationary again. Repeat the process until it dies.
