The Blubberous Dumple is a species of hypertrophic semiaquatic grub-dog, specifically a Water Dumple, appearing in Pikmin Evolution. It naturally appears similar to its smaller variant, but its skin is a dark indigo color rather than a bluish-purple, and it is noticeably more overweight. Hormonal changes caused by hypertrophy have made the Blubberous Dumple more gluttonous, and thus it developed a thick layer of blubber, hence the beast's name. Its insatiable appetite can be seen in action by how it constantly patrols its territory for a meal, eating carcasses and pieces of refuse it comes across with its sticky tongue. Upon eating, the body of the Blubberous Dumple grows larger and more rotund, leading toward its maximum health increasing after each meal.

As attacks directed at the Blubberous Dumple's thick hide have little impact, the only way to deal any meaningful damage is to wait for the creature to reveal its soft pink underside. One such opportunity is while it prepares its eating attack; swarming is extremely effective, although it is crucial to call Pikmin away before it can eat them, for there is no limit to the amount of Pikmin it can catch with even a single swipe of its tongue. Another attack the Dumple can perform is a short, quick lunge, with which it can eat up to 50 Pikmin at a time. If its lunge misses completely, the Blubberous Dumple will flip over and again reveal its underside, which Pikmin must then be thrown onto to reach, as swarming will merely cause Pikmin to attack its resilient blubber. After a little while, the Dumple will flip over, crushing anything caught underneath. Perhaps the Blubberous Dumple's greatest weakness is its mindless search for food. While it grows larger and gains more health with every item it ingests, it also becomes much slower and easier to both predict and attack. Its appetite will also cause it to eat what it shouldn't, most notably explosives. Feeding the Dumple a volatile orange syrup will inflict massive damage to it and instantly cause it to flip over, exposing its weakpoint. Another effective tactic is to spray its underbelly with an acidic green syrup, which will burn its throat, causing it to regurgitate any item it recently ate and heavily damaging the creature.

When it is slain, it will rapidly barf up everything it ate just before its body shrinks down to the size of a regular Water Dumple's, typically giving a large amount of refuse and corpses, a worthy and fitting reward for such a gluttonous creature. Overall, the Blubberous Dumple is a one-track-minded creature, and while it can eat a lot of Pikmin if given the chance, it's also slow and predictable.
