Olimar wakes up with a strange, scruffy creature vaguely resembling a bug-eyed dog softly crooning in its reversed tongue into his ear. Olimar and the Bedside Creature come across numerous interesting things, including an intelligent Citrus Lump in some rich guy's house. They even befriend two other losers on the planet. Eventually, the squad reaches a big dumb object containing the game's true villain; a shark of megalomaniacal proportions. A fin breaks though the earth as a leviathan rises through, sending plumes of thick, orange fanta in its wake. The sea monster is revealed to be Jabberjaw, who survived the soda cataclysm at the start of the game and now wants revenge on the people of Hocotate. After the squad defeats him once, he falls into the soda and absorbs its essence, becoming Jabberjaw Soul. This horrifying monstrosity makes Zero Two seem placid. Even the Waterwraith is an RC car compared to this Lovecraftian abomination. Despite this, it is defeated through the powers of friendship, awesomeness, nihilism, tenaciousness, and even avarice. This makes Jabberjaw Soul overload with soda essence and melt into so many blobs of black nectar it would probably smother and kill all of the main characters at once. At this point all the soda reverts to basic water.

Pikmin Fanta is a game in the Pikmin series created by an anonymous game designer going by the pseudonym, "StarrotCilts1". It is a sequel to Pikmin 3 that takes place before a supposedly lost early draft of Pikmin 4. However, due to financial troubles, Shigeru Miyamoto had to outsource the game to SEGA, who released it on the long-discontinued SEGA Dreamcast. Insiders place the blame of this on the poor sales of the Wii U, but in truth, he simply didn't want to get sued by Fanta so he gave the company's old rival full publishing rights so they could deal with it themselves. It is notable for featuring a legendary four-temperament ensemble, or so the marketing claims. All Pikmin species return bar one, although only Captain Olimar can use them. Critics have noted a disturbing resemblance between the game's plot and the plot of Tonic Trouble. It was only released in Europe because of this, since Ubi Soft Montreal threatened to destroy any copies that found their way in Canada, and SEGA got cold feet afterward. They were sued by a menagerie of companies anyway, including Nintendo for some reason.

Plot

Captain Olimar is told by the President of a shipment of aluminum cans containing the new Fanta flavor, "Fanta Turrón". The delivery path to the planet that ordered it goes past PNF-404, which Olimar finds interesting. What he doesn't know, however, is that Louie is in charge of the shipment, freaking him out and forcing him to take flight in the S.S. Dolphin 2 to stop him from doing something absurd.

Meanwhile, on the Hocotate ship, Louie samples some of the new flavor, only to find it disgusting and eject it. The soda can drifts towards PNF-404 and lands in an ocean bordering Serene Shores. The carbonated beverage converts the waters of the planet into acid, causing the growth of Citrus Lump trees to grow exponentially, but also bringing extinction to all aquatic creatures, including Blue Pikmin because they're always the ones to die first. Olimar accidentally crashes the S.S. Dolphin 2 into the Hocotate ship, knocking Louie out and sending Olimar hurdling towards the planet as the two ships explode.

Olimar wakes up with a strange, scruffy creature vaguely resembling a bug-eyed dog softly crooning in its reversed tongue into his ear. This so-called "Bedside Creature" decides to follow the conscious Olimar as he realizes the damage done by the Fanta. Thus beginning his journey to remedy the planet of its sickness.

A fin breaks through the earth as a leviathan rises through, sending plumes of thick, orange fanta in its wake. This makes Jabberjaw Soul overload with soda essence and melt into so many blobs of black nectar that it would probably smother and kill all of the main characters at once. At this point, all the soda reverts to basic water.

Unfortunately, Olimar can not return home after the destruction of the ships, the Pikmin offer him a free ride in their Onion, but it turns him into Olimin from Pikmin 1. The Bedside Creature rolls around in some moss while the other two dudes go back to Carrabba's Italian Grill for lunch. The Pikmin send an SOS signal out on some slightly smaller dumb object, thus segueing into the opening to Pikmin 4.

Characters

 • Captain Olimar – available from the start. He is quite simply the same old, crusty Pikmin player everyone has come to expect. He is the only one who can actually command Pikmin for some reason. Unfortunately, he has a chance of breaking his own hand whenever he punches an enemy, so it is in the player's best interest to make sure he always has Pikmin.
 • The Bedside Creature – also available at the start. This formless ball of hair isn't able to do anything but deliver its sweet serenade to enemies, putting them in a stupor from the siren song. It can not attack, build, or carry out other tasks, so it's basically a useless dumb animal.
 • Frank Horrigan – the iconic secret service agent for the Enclave. He is found in Camp Navarro and dwarfs literally everyone else. He is also armed to the teeth with weapons that cause funny explosions, but it's more effective to just violently yet passively punt everyone he walks past across a distance equivalent to three football fields. The only problem is that he's so slow he'd barely pass the landing site by the time sunset comes. He's useless too.
 • Zizz – some creepy phantom guy from Konami's Pop'n Music series, which never even released in the sole region Pikmin Fanta can be played in (or anywhere outside of eastern Asia). He appears because Louie got knocked out after the crash scene and they needed someone to replace him as the dubiously objectively and disgustingly immoral playable character. He is found at Carrabba's Italian Grill because he himself is Italian. His special ability is summoning Waterwraiths on every frame and controlling them, which is cool until the game crashes from the amount of entities it has to load. Frank Horrigan fills the niche anyway. He's just as useless as the rest of them!

Bottom line is that Captain Olimar is the only worthwhile character to play as.
