A sedative is a hazard that affects the mental states of Pikmin subject to it, putting them into a stupor. While under the effects of sedatives, Pikmin become slower and weaker, far more likely to stumble and fall, and unresponsive to anything around them until they eventually recover. Heavy dosages will instead put Pikmin to sleep, rendering them completely defenseless for some time. Repeated whistling may help flush sedatives from a Pikmin's body and allow them to recover more quickly.
