The Amazing New Update!! is a update and side story game mode for Pikmin 2... Again?. It has been made for april fools, it adds new enemies and joke content into seven missions, referencing the seven days of a week. It involves around Orimario and Looigi throwing to get the world's most unbalanced Onion, but it is locked into the void, and only a god cat known as Cat Cod can open the wall blocking the void, and only if it is given the Sacred Sardines, that are in the temple, but is however also a trap, releasing the Jackfruit. The Amazing New Update!! is similar to the Timed Mode, however, with even more content, and exclusive and random content, making sense for it being for april fools.
Plot
Intro
Orimario and Looigi are on a unknown area, until they see their Pikmin being eaten by Red Bulborbs, a Bulbmin notably simply laying on the ground, presumably injured. They look at their Onion that is only red, yellow, and blue, with the text "GARBAGE" slowly appearing into it. So after this, both get a idea, they'll find a Onion that can make every Pikmin type, so they find Gerald, who tells that it does exist, but it is trapped into the void, it being blocked by a stony wall composed of stoprightthere, amethyst, and lego. Both Orimario and Looigi get sad seeing that they cannot obtain it, until Gerald says that there is a being strong enough to open it, the Cat Cod, they get happy, until he says that they have to get bring it the very delicious and goddly Sacred Sardines, which they'll are ready to ready, which so the Yoshitate Ship goes into the ground, warping into another place.
Mission 1
They go to another place, what seems to be the Backrooms, there are many Bulborbs in Bikes, odd-looking Bulborbs, and more, searching for treasures, such as the Courage Reactor to calm down after they encountered the Ugly Bulborb. Later, they find a telescope, warping them into another place.
Mission 2
They get send into a office, with Blower Pot being also found as a easter egg. There are doors, there will be Sweetberries, falling Smile Grenades that eplode into bloom, which is only good for the Pikmin in that case. But Looigi eats one and loved those, contrary to the Sourberry, so he gets some more. After this, they find a dead Louie, the true Louie, laying next to a goop-berry, which they look confused, which the screen fades in black.
Mission 3
This time, rather than playing as Orimario and Looigi, you controls a Ugly Bulborb in a altered version of the Welcome Forest, it was so ugly everyone it looked at died, and once all Pikmin and enemies die, it also fades in black with a text in with "THE END", but below a smaller text saying "...No it's not over yet, actually". It can be considered a minigame, being inspired by the Spongebob Squarepants episode, Something Smells, where Patrick tells Spongebob a history of the ugly Barnacle Man.
Mission 4
It is a boss rush mission, it passes into a boss rush-themed cave sublevel, back to Orimario and Looigi, being a boss rush against the almighty Squortle Stack, a stack of every squortle to exist, in a very hard fight, they go into the next sublevel, just to find another boss, the It's-a Me Squortlario. It is even more powerful, being able to shoot "Wa-hoo"s from its trunk, making Pikmin to noclip of the area and die to the pits. Upon defeat, they celebrate their victory against those two bosses.
Mission 5
Finally, they find the Sacred Sardines, after their long and crazy journey. But as they approach the Sacred Sardines, White Scarf suddenly appears and steals it, teleporting away, after this, a giant and 3D version of the Jackfruit will appear. Rolling toward them into a Raiders of the Lost Ark-like boulder chase. It being stalled every time it collides with a obstacle before breaking them, until it gets stuck between two pillars, which they escape into a finish line. As Looigi stops to breathe after this grand chase.
Mission 6
It is another boss rush, this time, multiple sublevels, being a boss rush of all of the bosses and enemies found so far. Upon finishing, they see the Cat Cod from far away.
Mission 7
It is the final mission, being a final boss fight against White Scarf. He says about how they threw a very useless nail into it and then launched it into another place, now alone. So it decides to take revenge, and say "prepare to die!". Which it'll throw poison shurikens at Pikmin and leaders, and teleport like a ninja, just to it to be beaten with only few hits like any Pikmin, dropping the Sacred Sardines, which so Orimario and Looigi finish their mission, and so they give it to the Cat Cod, who eats them, then, he floats it, before just falling, and simply sleep, resulting however into a shockwave, making the wall to fall, revealing the Unbalanced Onion, which so they ride on it, which it flies away, creating a hole into it.
Ending
Orimario and Looigi ride on the Unbalanced Onion, going through many areas, similar to the ending of Castle Crashers, while this, Gerald gains a pair of wings and fly, revealing to be a Peepper.
