Lake of New Beginnings
You first land in a small crater with a negligible amount of water in it. Directly in front of you is a locked gate and you don't have the key. Guess you have to come back later...
The return
After you return from a trip back to the Ancient Forest you should have all the keys you need to progress:The key to the locked gate and Purple Pikmin. From the gate, you can head east to the Runoff Ravine and a viewing point towards the wild Blue Pikmin Onion. To the west of the gate is the hub of the level, a 'lake'(puddle) near the larger one.
