Reasons: Cleanup efforts.

Bamboo Garden is one of the first caves encountered in Pikmin 2: New Year. The cave is found in the Jungle of Repose. The sublevels are the first caves to contain bamboo; one of the new plants in the game. The cave is full of weaker enemies such as Dwarf Forest Bulborbs. Purple Pikmin are also encountered in the Bamboo Garden. There are × 500 worth of treasures, with the Spherical Atlas being the main treasure.

How to reach

The cave is found where the Emergence Cave is located in Pikmin 2. In order to get to the cave, you must tear down a gate, and then kill the Easter Chrysanthemum guarding the cave. Small, glowing butterflies can be seen around the cave.

The sublevel is filled with weak enemies, and is easy to clear out. Bamboo is also present throughout this cave. Kill the dwarf Grub-Dogs guarding the treasures and collect them. The Anxious Sprout may be harder to find as it is almost completely buried in the dirt.

Sublevel 2

This sublevel starts you out on an elevated plateau of dirt right above the Spherical Atlas. Kill the dwarf Grub-Dogs, and go to the other room where you can convert your Red Pikmin into Purple Pikmin. Once you collect the Spherical Atlas; you can travel to the Awakening Arctic.

Trivia

The Bamboo Garden's second sublevel contains a unique theme of dark green terrain with roots sprouting out of the side of the walls. This theme is not seen in any other cave or sublevel.
