Pikmin (ピクミン?) are the core aspect of Pikmin I.
Biological elements
This part covers the biological elements of the Pikmin.
Morphology
The morphology of Pikmin species vary a lot, from White Pikmin (白ピクミン) and Indigo Pikmin (胞子ピクミン)'s small size to Purple Pikmin (紫 ピクミン)'s large size. These are often due to living environments and nutritional inputs.
Most of the Cavahabini tribe members are small due to living in caves. Such examples are the aforementioned White Pikmin (R. venalbius) and Indigo Pikmin (M. celer), very populous species of the Cavahabini tribe.
Taxonomy
Taxonomical entities in Pikmin I are very varying.
Pikminidae (Pikmin family) splits into Personapikinae (humanoid Pikmin subfamily) and Pikuparasitinae (parasitic subfamily).
Personapikinae
Personapikinae splits into many different tribes, such as Luxhabini (surface dwellers), Cavahabini (cave-inhabiting members), and Luxotenebrisini (mix of light-dwelling and dark-dwelling).
Luxhabini tribe member genera are Terracandere (white flowers) and Tellindicum (indigo flowers).
Terracandere members are: Red Pikmin, Blue Pikmin, and Yellow Pikmin.
Tellindicum members are: Rock Pikmin and Winged Pikmin.
