The Stringfly appears in Pikmin: Spark as the newly-discovered adult form of the Ravenous Whiskerpillar. They have a similar color scheme to their juvenile form but also have spotted brown wings and a long red proboscis. After hatching from their cocoons, these creatures become solitary, using their silk-producing glands to cover their dens in a silky residue. Although docile to most fauna, they are hostile to Pikmin and other small creatures. Using their long tongue, they can slurp up a maximum of three Pikmin at a time, much like a Whiptongue Bulborb. If there are any corpses or other items in their vicinity to attack using, they bind these items in strong silk and swing the items around like a wrecking ball. This silk can be destroyed by Pikmin to get the items inside. Upon death, a Stringfly may yield ultra-spicy spray.

Notes

Abel's medical journal

While the creature doesn't offer any medicinal uses, its silk can be used to create a durable and effective bandage. It's durable and waterproof and doesn't smell.

Lyn's sale review

This silk is amazing! It can be used to make fashionable, functional clothes, and good cushions. As Abel said, it also makes for amazing bandages. Who wouldn't want to use it? It's a wonder material.
