The Stone Turrtugo is a turtle-like enemy found in Pikmin: Echoes of Eternity. It has smooth magenta skin and a blue shell. They bury in holes and pop out much like the Hermit Crawmad. This creature shoots out boulders from its front orifice.

Strategy

It rarely ever leaves its hole, so it is easy to evade. Until Purple Pikmin are discovered, there is no way to defeat these foes. Purples are required to break the shell and expose the weak spot. The boulders it shoots are about half the size of that of an Decorated Cannon Beetle Larva, but do not follow the player. Occasionally it will leave its post to slowly waddle over to a different location. This is a prime time to attack, because it will not fight back unless partially buried in a hole. Sometimes the boulder it shoots will be made of sand, and explode into a mass of quicksand which will suffocate any Pikmin except Tan Pikmin.

"Gaiae Dermochelia, kingdom Animalia, phylum reptilius, class turtaligo, family Turrtugo. This omnivorous heterotroph reptilian has a hard, blue shell, that armors it against predators. It has also adapted a method of expelling waste as boulders at a high velocity. This is a noted similarity to the Cannon Beetles on the Distant Planet. The Stone Turrtugo appears to eat fruits and amphibian creatures, among other things."
