The Reconstructed Crawbster is the boss of the Dark Wetland Cave in the Ancient Wetland in Pikmin: Sinister Incinerator. It is much harder to defeat than a normal Segmented Crawbster as it holds one of the dark spores. It's difficult to tell if the Reconstructed Crawbster is a cybernetically enhanced creature or a machine modeled after normal Segmented Crawbsters. The Reconstructed Crawbster's name is a homage to the various "reconstructed" enemies that appear in Mother 3, which are organic creatures, often chimeras, that have been fitted with mechanical parts and weapons suited for battle.
To bring it down, the same general strategy is used: get it to roll into a wall, then throw Pikmin at its vulnerable underside before it manages to defend itself. However, this boss has several new methods of attack. It can blast a surge of steam forwards, which will easily trip up Pikmin, making them easy targets for its rolling attack. Also, it can draw back its main claw while it's in its normal position and take a few shots at leaders and Pikmin with a Man-at-Legs-like gun. Once it reaches half-health, it will shoot at leaders Pikmin with dual Man-at-Legs pistols simultaneously when it uses its rolling attack, and upon hitting the wall it will not only make boulders fall but it will also fire blindly with the pistols, often damaging itself heavily in the process. Its final attack, once it has less than one-fourth of its health left, can only be wielded by it in its normal position. It draws back the large claw and concentrates, crackling with electricity. It then fires an intense bolt of lightning directly in front of it, an attack only Yellow Pikmin can survive.
