The Luminous Slurker is a bioluminescent species of umbloda appearing in Pikmin 5. It belongs to a branch of the umbloda family known as the armed umblodas. This species will ignore Pikmin until they are thrown onto it, causing it to light itself up for a moment, causing the Pikmin to drop off and other nearby Pikmin to enter a state of panic. If provoked further, it will pull its arms inside of its body and use its feathers to propel itself downward. Any Pikmin caught underneath the slurker will be sucked into the mouth on the bottom of its body and absorbed into its head, where their nutrients are extracted, and their bodies are pulverized and ejected from its top. It should be dealt with using the panic-resistant Green Pikmin, which are also capable of sticking onto it longer because of their spiked armor. When killed, its feathers shrivel and disintegrate, and it falls onto the ground. It is also capable of swallowing enemies, and collectible items, which will be ejected from its mouth upon death.
