The Volt Driftill slightly resembles the Dumpuff but is slightly larger and is dark blue in color. It constantly inflates and deflates the sacs lining its sides to flutter through the air, pulsing with electricity. Occasionally, a Volt Driftill will fire a concentrated bolt of lightning straight at the ground, so tread carefully. These enemies are typically found in large groups of ten to twenty, so keeping any non-Yellow Pikmin away from them is a wise decision. Despite wielding one of the most dangerous hazards in the game, the Volt Driftill is frail and has little health; throwing even a single Yellow Pikmin onto it will fell it in a few seconds.

Notes

Olimar's notes

"The largest of all the driftills, many of these peaceful creatures congregate together at high altitudes to feed on tiny microorganisms. This creature gathers a significant amount of static electricity from the surrounding air, which is stored within its inflatable air sacs. This buildup of electrical energy eventually reaches the point where the volt driftill must discharge it at twice the power, making it surprisingly dangerous for an otherwise placid animal."
