Hi there! Yeah, I made my account last year, though today was the first day I actually started making pages. Indeed, I started my Pikmin Fanon adventure all the way back in 2009. It's incredible how time flies... And I'm so happy to see this wiki still thriving all these years later. It's kinda surreal after all this time to actually be contributing to the wiki instead of just reading every page I can get my paws on. I'm still figuring out how the formatting on this wiki works, and I'll make sure to ask if I have any questions. I'll probably make a signature soon, because that sounds important. Seeing more of your fanon game idea evolutions from 2023 to 2008. I also had many Pikmin series ideas, Pikmin ideas, that I did on a drawing free APP lots years ago, all those were forgotten forever, but those I remember were a normal Pikmin which was tan (aka skin-tone cause I didn't knew the color's name) which had just no resistances or anything, though its color was made as the Bulbmin idle on their Pikmin 2... Again?, then a smaller Pikmin which was orange (I forgot its actual color but anyways), or even a giant Pikmin which was maroon, those were my most notable ones. Of course, none those I decided to add into my game, cause well, they wouldn't be much interesting I think, and neither the normal Pikmin due to the Walking Golden Pikpik Carrot, due to what I call as the "unoriginality rule", which there can't be 2 Pikmin with a too similar purpose. – Blower Pot ^{Talk | Contributions | Fanon game}

Those are some cool ideas! The giant Pikmin sounds like it could be really unique and interesting. Yeah, I had a ton of ideas for Pikmin fangames over the years. The one with the coolest new Pikmin is definitely Leaves of Soil. Actually, I plan to reference those old ideas in my new customization setting, but I would add those to story mode at least, for you know, there's like 7 Pikmin in there, and 11 in total, so I would add them for other game modes, cause I got an idea of the giant Pikmin being able to carry Pikmin or even leaders like a platform to reach higher places, which sounds interesting, and the small Pikmin could pass through small tunnels... Oh yes, I'd also like to ask you about your game's subcategories of creatures, main protagonists, and tyrants, since they don't really match up with the rest of the game content categories, and I would prefer consistency in wiki content. Perhaps you could change main protagonists into characters and merge creatures and tyrants into enemies? If you really insist on letting the categories as they are now, I'll let it go. Hi! So the main protagonists are characters, but they're more significant than most of them. Think like how in Pikmin 4, you have a bunch of different characters, but the Rescue Corps characters are much more significant compared to the other castaways. I could get rid of the main protagonists category if it's a problem, and just have a characters category for all of them. As for tyrants, they're a special kind of enemy; they're bosses, but they're major area bosses, similar to the main bosses of Pikmin 3. Meanwhile, other boss creatures in Antarctic Survival are lesser bosses and you'll typically have multiple different kinds in an area, like the Burrowing Snagret and Shaggy Long Legs in Pikmin 3. Meanwhile, the reason I use the term "creatures" rather than enemies is that while most of them start as hostile enemies, they'll end up being converted to your side and join as characters, with "creatures" being a summary term for this. I totally agree that this game doesn't match up with the rest of the game content categories. That's because Antarctic Survival is a spinoff title, with very different gameplay mechanics compared to main series Pikmin games. If it's a problem to have more unique subcategories, I could merge them into the main types of categories. However, I feel like the traditional "enemies" category doesn't really fit well for the mechanics of a spinoff title like this. – A Friendly Amprat ^{(Talk | Contribs | Projects)}

The way the wiki goes about it, characters are still characters, no matter how minor. The same logic applies to bosses, that being bosses are still bosses, no matter if they're minor or major. I guess what could be done is moving "main protagonists" to just "characters", "tyrants" to "bosses" (and place it in the "creatures" category as a subcategory), and maybe just leave the "creatures" category as-is for the reasons you said. That makes sense, and I can definitely put the protagonists into characters category and tyrants into bosses category as the main form of categorization. However, I do notice that some bosses like the Plasm Wraith have additional categories such as one for "final bosses" and some for its elemental categories. Would I be able to make special categories like this for specific creatures in Antarctic Survival, as long as I place them into the main categories as well? I dunno. I wouldn't want a general "tyrants" category because then it would just be a duplicate "bosses" category. The "final bosses" category has its purpose, and so do the categories in enemies by characteristics and enemies by hazard. I took care of moving the categories around as we discussed, and it just occurred to me that most creatures in your game will be in both the "creatures" and "characters" categories for your game, with the obvious exception of the Iridescent Flint Beetle. I'll only use the "Pikmin: Antarctic Survival creatures" category for now, and think about if any other categories are desired going forward. I have a clarification question regarding capitalization of the term "Awakened" or "Awakening". I noticed on the Porquillion page that all instances of the word "Awakening" were converted to lowercase. In Pikmin: Antarctic Survival, the term "awaken" can have a specific meaning referring to the process of a creature becoming injected with the game's awakening essence and subsequently becoming a usable character once the process is complete. The reason I use capitalization for this word is for clarity, because lowercase "awakening" can also just mean waking up from a slumber. I find it is more clear if "Awakening" is capitalized when referring to this gameplay mechanic. I also capitalize "Awakening Essence" for the same reason, as it is a proper title of sorts for the liquid substance that spreads Awakening. Is there a reason not to capitalize it? I capitalize it whenever I use it in an article, and I'd like to keep the Antarctic Survival articles consistent. – A Friendly Amprat ^{(Talk | Contribs | Projects)}

It's just that I don't believe awakening has to be capitalized, regardless of the context, and neither does awakening essence. If you insist, then again I'll let it go. Though, maybe you could use the term "enlightenment" instead? The reason I say that is because, in another writing project of mine, creatures classified as monsters sometimes undergo a process called enlightenment, where they gain self-awareness and slightly more intelligence and can form communities, much like awakening in your game. ~ Cheepy-Cheepy  15:01, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

I'll have to think about this more, I suppose. I certainly find it easier to read with "Awakening" capitalized, but if this is an unpopular opinion I can try to make all instances of the term lowercase. Re:Order of fangame sections on pages

Merge

Okay seeing all the aristocrabs is cool and its easier to see them all but I dont think I read the Brute aristocrab desc very clear so it just sounded like it was only scaled up. Though I guess I can see the similarity. All of the tough aristocrabs all in the same place. Seems fair enough. We can have it with the brute. Re:About using other users' creatures

In the past, it was recommended to ask a user for permission to use something they made purely out of politeness. During "The Reform", such as it was, of the policies and guidelines, this was changed because all but a small few users from the past went permanently offline. I see. I noticed you changed the 3000-NORB page and removed references to the Overlord from Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. How does this differ from other forms of using content between games? Is it because the Overlord is a plot-important character rather than a creature? Antarctic Survival blurs the lines between characters and creatures, so I'm not sure at what point it is disallowed to use ideas between games like this. – A Friendly Amprat ^{(Talk | Contribs | Projects)}

I didn't think I changed the 3000-NORB all that much. And I removed the Overlord's notes because he is a character rather than just a regular old enemy, and I'm not sure how much Soundwave would like a character he made being... well, honestly, inaccurately portrayed in a game that he not only doesn't appear in but was made in kind of a "what if" scenario. ~ Cheepy-Cheepy  15:31, 23 March 2024 (UTC)

Yeah, it's fair to remove that. I just wanted to make sure I knew what the distinction was there, and I guess him being a character and not just an enemy is probably what it is. It will not be used in the base game, but will likely be a tyrant if I create a Pikmin: Wide World DLC pack for Antarctic Survival. I was actually thinking of asking you if I could create one for Wide World, but I might not do it anytime soon because I have other content packs I plan on making first. I think a Wide World content pack could be cool because Wide World is one of my favorite fangames on Pikmin Fanon. Question

How does the Pikmin work in your game? Are them like mini characters, or maybe helpers, that are resistant to certain hazards (let me guess, here Bulbmin will be resistant to every hazard? At least apparently, cause everyone still makes Bulbmin like that even after Glow Pikmin that I'm not even surprised anymore)? – Blower Pot ^{Talk | Contributions | Fanon game}

Pikmin are in the process of being added into the game and aren't fully decided yet, but the plan is that Pikmin will be able to be Awakened and become settlement residents like other creatures. As characters, Pikmin are planned to be a generally hiveminded species, and individual Pikmin won't have names or their own personalities. However, there will be some individual Pikmin who don't fit this trend, having their own names and personalities. These Pikmin will be considered "defective" by other Pikmin due to their abnormal behavior. Of course -- you don't have to follow any of this when designing a Pikmin character, and you can make a Pikmin character however you want, like you would make any other creature into a character. This is what I plan on the lore for Pikmin being, though. I will be writing some more information about this in the near future when I begin to detail how Pikmin work in Antarctic Survival. And yeah, Pikmin will be immune to the hazards they normally are, and have the same properties and abilities that are expected of their colors. Bulbmin are undecided, and I'll probably make them resist some hazards, but not every one. Which hazards specifically they resist have not been fully fleshed out yet. Glow Pikmin are planned to still resist every hazard (except gloom), but these Pikmin are alien in nature and actually cannot be recruited to the Diamond Settlement due to their bizarre nature. Amprats- Rats or dogs?

Hehe, I've heard a debate going on across the fandom about whether Amprats are rats or dogs, it's kind of a funny question. I originally thought they were dogs, until I saw that they were in the numbouse family, loll- Though this debate has mostly died down... What do you think of amprats? Those dogs rats are cute, at least until they get electric, but when I first saw them I thought this... Thing, was strange-looking, but also has the colors of a dog in my logic, so I thought they were dogs, but well, when there had no piklopedia, I had no idea what they were until Pikmin 3 Deluxe, where they readded the Piklopedia. At first I thought they were harmless until they shake their fur and suddenly reveal their mouth. – Blower Pot ^{Talk | Contributions | Fanon game}

I found the electricity to be cute. And cool! I mean, it makes sense. Static electricity is created when two things harshly rub together and part chemicals, causing a short burst of electricity. In fact, for them to make enough electricity to be seen in yellow is near impossible, but it's probably just the whole comical setting of Pikmin rather than actually realistic, though it makes sense in gameplay to see it, that way you don't lose too many Pikmin to it without knowing. Amprats have always been based on rodents. They're not based on dogs at all. It's amusing that I'm not the only one who made this mistake, but in retrospect they don't really look like dogs other than some front views I suppose. Their paws, tails, and especially faces under the fur are very rodent-ish. Even in Pikmin 3 before Deluxe, they were called "Amprats" not "Ampdogs". This didn't stop me from calling them "Dograts" for years but I don't do that anymore because it was silly. Good to see peoples joined too! I planned to be the first to do a april fools for the wiki, and for a game, so I had many stuffs planned, so we have... The Amazing New Update!!. But actually I saw many persons also did. Like, I got doing pages for all the time ago as long as I saw I'm in 1st april, so I would surprise peoples when they came back. I had plans already, but I told nobody so not to spoil it. Eeh, I'd really rather it doesn't, for the reasons I mentioned earlier. It isn't really something which fits with my normal "Amprat brand", which was sort of the joke but since April Fools' is over now... At the very least I'd rather it be removed from the news, because I don't really want it being one of the first things people see of mine on this wiki, since it's nothing like the kind of content I want to make due to the inappropriate and low quality nature. The Amazing New Update deserves to be in the news because it's a genuinely awesome idea and makes a great April Fools update for a hypothetical Pikmin fan game. Red Boloroborp on the other hand is something I threw together in like an hour as a brief April Fools joke, parodying a lot of stuff relating to this wiki. – A Friendly Amprat ^{(Talk | Contribs | Projects)}

If I felt the same way about things I made, I would have deleted Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs long ago. I honestly think it's worth keeping. It's a good joke, one that had much effort put into it, and it'll get a good laugh out of the people who have read the Red Bulborb's page in its entirety. I actually really liked Attack of the Breadbugs. Despite its silly premise, it never really struck me as a joke game. And it's a lot higher quality than a single article that I threw together in about an hour using text replacement. The Boloroborp page doesn't really work without the crude humor, which obviously isn't allowed on this wiki, so the new version of the page doesn't follow my original vision anyway. We can keep it if you want, I just don't think it's really that good, and I'd rather not it be the first thing everyone sees of my content because of the main page. – A Friendly Amprat ^{(Talk | Contribs | Projects)}

To elaborate a bit further, something I consider is that I started reading Pikmin Fanon articles when I was eight years old. At that age, there are a lot of things that would have upset or offended me, mainly regarding more inappropriate or adult jokes, and especially swear words. I'm not like that anymore, but I want to be thoughtful of other people who might be in the situation I was then, and I don't want to scare them off from the wiki with my inappropriate page. I've cleaned it up now and removed the swear words and innuendo, but they're still there in the page's history. Honestly, the page isn't nearly as funny without them, which is another reason I didn't plan to keep the page around. Part of what made my joke page funny to me was how it didn't fit in Pikmin Fanon at all for a variety of reasons, as parts of it were a parody of low quality and inappropriate edits. How about, "Tumbling Shellsnapper"! It's like a turtle but with much longer legs, and it's known to throw itself down slopes and tumble down to crush whatever is on the slope with its shell! It will eat Pikmin that it can't crush, like Rock Pikmin. It also eats Pikmin if there's no slope to slide down in its shell. When you defeat it, it roars and withdraws into its shell, which is the carcass that the Pikmin can carry. How about "Red Mini Bulbouse". A Numbouse mimic of the Red Bulborb that is similar to a Dwarf Red Bulborb but a bit smaller and much faster. Pikmin III

I'm curious to know what your Pikmin III would be about, and yeah, it was a good time you didn't edit your userpage, but it you want to use templates for user pages, you can always use them whenever you want. Well, it is similar to Pikmin 2... Again?, where it was also a sequel to a game of like 18 years ago if I'm not wrong, but improved in that case. But yours is based on older games and on your old concept, mine just appeared there for fix all things peoples didn't like from the Pikmin series (at a critical point on Pikmin 4, stuffs such as less difficult, Puffstool but worse, White Pikmin unnessecary nerfed while Purple Pikmin got buffed too much, and stuffs) or and to remove things considered OP or UP (Underpowered), or just unoriginal, and add new stuffs. So your Pikmin III sounds that it based on more stuffs, in first place, everything you made were larger than mine, and each Pikmin: Antarctic Survival Awakened creature had a name with a interesting origin (such as Groovy Long Legs), which I never did ones as much as yours usually. – Blower Pot ^{Talk | Contributions | Fanon game}

Pikmin III is going to be smaller-scale than Antarctic Survival, but I still plan on making it a full-length Pikmin game idea. I don't plan to work on it nearly as much as Antarctic Survival since that's my main project, but I thought it would be fun to work on something new and more "traditional Pikmin gameplay" to spice things up, because I was getting tired of just writing creature descriptions. Re:Cleanup regarding objectivity policy

Yeah, those pages don't follow the modern guidelines because they haven't been updated. A lot of pages are like that yet. And you bring up some good points in your thoughts on the current policies, and honestly some of them I agree with. One such one is that modern Pikmin Fanon feels impersonal or robotic at times, which it does, but that's a result of what the more encyclopedic writing style calls for. I guess I just prefer that style of writing over something more casual, or with the innocent charm of a kid. I also appreciate that you realize why our policies are so strict; back before I reformed them, it was a free-for-all. And games can definitely have walkthrough/guide-style subpages, there's nothing against it. And I... guess I can accept the use of the word "you" in them, since they are guides. I like to think that Pikmin Fanon already has a "what-if" element to its writing, but with me as chief of editing, it's ultimately up to me to allow or deny something new that comes up. I'm admittedly pretty stubborn, so it takes some effort to make me bend, but if someone brings up a problem and we discuss it I usually accept it. And I don't mind the Amprants, just look at how I go on and on in my PWW-related content, haha. ~ Cheepy-Cheepy  13:04, 14 April 2024 (UTC)

Yeah, I write in the encyclopedic manner as well, just look at my pages. As a kid I would write "you" in my stuff, but I generally don't really have that style in my writing anymore. I'd use it if I made a fake walkthrough for a game, but generally it's personal preference for me. Though I do sometimes feel like my writing comes off as stilted and awkward with the lengths I go to to avoid "you" and similar words. The encyclopedic writing style has benefits, I do like it in a lot of ways, but at the same time it doesn't feel as "Pikmin Fanon-y" as the more casual writing style of the early days, this is a creative fan content site and not an encyclopedia. And yeah I was there for the pre-reform era in the mid-late 2010s, it was a mess. Don't feel like you have to change anything, like I said I just wanted to express some thoughts I'd formed regarding this. I still love modern Pikmin Fanon, I've been around 15 years and I'm hoping for another 15 more. If there are ever discussions regarding policy updates, I'd give my thoughts there as well. Yeah. The idea and concept is really simple, I could actually make a very simple version of this in Scratch (Scratch.mit.edu,) in under 24 hours. The mechanics aren't too hard to figure out, so I'm going to try and make this.. What, the second game on the fanon wiki ever made? Oh, if you want to help out, you can too... I've been trying to figure out how to make a sort-of signup form that lets others help out in making the game :D

Though unfortunately that makes scratch not possible (unless I lie about it,) because multiple owner accounts are not allowed... Yeah, as you can see I'm having a hard time figuring this out. But still, after I manage to make a grappling hook out of a rock and several finely-cut and sewn leaves, I can absolutely fling myself to the top of the cliff like a cartoon character- Yes I wrote that.

So unless Scratch has changed from back when I used it, what we can do is save the project to our computers and then work on it in the computer application, and send it back and forth to each other with our updates. Then, you can upload the sb3 project file to Scratch as your game. Now, I haven't done anything in Scratch in years, so I'm quite rusty on it, but I might be able to help with some of the coding side, we'll see if I have time. “	The Porquillion is a boss appearing in Pikmin 4 that visually resembles a swollen porcupine or hedgehog. This creature is one of the most well-known bosses in 'Pikmin 4, as it is the first boss encountered in the game's tutorial, and then it appears frequently throughout the game, in locations such as the Sun-Speckled Terrace and the Hero's Hideaway. The Porquillion is a member of the Sharpshell family, and the only known canon member of this family. This creature attacks by shooting out spikes when threatened, though this seems to be a defense mechanism and not an offensive weapon, as the creature is noted by Olimar and Dalmo to be quite cowardly and hide from any possible danger. Despite its timid nature, the Porquillion is clearly quite strong, as it has a large amount of health due to its status as a boss enemy, and its spikes can kill many Pikmin at once if it catches the player off guard. A Porquillion has four divided segments of its body, each of which has its own set of spikes. When the Porquillion attacks Pikmin, it shoots the spikes from a segment of its body, which leaves that segment of its body bare. Once all four segments of the Porquillion's body have lost their spikes, the creature is defenseless for a short time, and cannot do anything to harm Pikmin as it has no more spikes to shoot. During this time, the Porquillion will try to avoid getting hurt by Pikmin as it prepares to regenerate its spikes. It takes some time for the Porquillion to regrow its spikes, providing an opportunity to attack the creature. Once this time has passed, the Porquillion will stop moving and visibly charge itself up, with a sound indicating its incoming spike growth. After this happens, the creature's body will fully regrow all of its spikes, which impales any Pikmin unfortunate enough to still be latched onto the creature's body. The Porquillion is the most common boss in Pikmin 4, as it is fought a number of times throughout the game, numbering seven in all. The creature is first fought as the tutorial boss of the game, where Olimar battles it with up to one hundred Pikmin while riding Moss. After this, the Porquillion appears a bit later in the game as an area boss of the Sun-Speckled Terrace, where it guards the Distant Summit landing site, which can be activated once the creature is killed. After this, some time passes before another Porquillion is encountered, but one is eventually found in the Hero's Hideaway, where it stands on top of the kitchen counter. In the same area, the Hero's Hideaway, the Plunder Palace cave contains the fourth Porquillion, which is on the third sublevel as one of the rare cases where a cave contains a mini-boss sublevel. A fifth Porquillion is encountered in the Cradle of the Beast, where it appears on the second sublevel alongside many other enemies. A sixth Porquillion appears in Olimar's Shipwreck Tale, on the same table in the Hero's Hideaway where it was fought in the tutorial. This Porquillion is technically the same as the Porquillion fought as the tutorial boss, but it has to be re-fought in Olimar's Shipwreck Tale to claim the Interstellar Radio ship part for Olimar's ship. Lastly, the seventh and final Porquillion appears in the Trial of the Sage Leaf, as part of its mini-boss gauntlet on the ninth sublevel. Unlike many other bosses and mini-bosses, the Porquillion never appears in the Cavern for a King. Porquillions are best fought with Rock Pikmin, because their spike attacks are considered blunt force, and thus a Porquillion cannot harm Rock Pikmin at all. The Porquillion can also be fought with any other Pikmin type, and Ice Pikmin can be quite useful against it due to their ability to freeze the creature solid after doing enough damage. Using items such as trackonators and ice blasts can be very useful when fighting a Porquillion, if such items are available. Ultra-spicy spray is helpful if the player has it on hand as well, since powered-up Pikmin can deplete the Porquillion's health much more quickly. Often, swarming and rushing are an effective way to quickly deal heavy damage to a Porquillion and complete it in just one or two combat cycles before it gets the chance to regrow its spikes. However, some Porquillions, such as the one in the Hero's Hideaway on the kitchen counter, are encountered on raised platforms. These Porquillions cannot be rushed, as the Pikmin will be blocked by the ledges of the raised platforms. Instead, throwing Pikmin is the only feasible strategy, which takes a bit longer since only one Pikmin can be thrown at a time. However, even in these cases, items like bomb rocks can still be used against the creature to defeat it more quickly and safely. In the Cradle of the Beast, one notable Porquillion is known to have eaten the King of Meats, which is the second heaviest treasure in Pikmin 4 with a weight of 300 units, behind only the Golden Vaulting Table, which has a weight of 1000 units. It is not known how a Porquillion was able to consume such a massive item, especially given how small its mouth is. When a Porquillion is being battled, the music playing in the area switches to a boss theme which makes use of drums and a thumb piano, also known as a kalimba or mbira. The thumb piano instrument is associated with the Porquillion in Pikmin 4, as no other boss encountered in the game has this instrument in its boss theme, instead having their own unique instruments, since every enemy throughout all of the game has its own unique musical theme. Altogether, the Porquillion is a very recognizable enemy and an excellent new addition to the Pikmin series. It can be challenging, but its attacks can be easily predicted and avoided, making it a good boss for the early game.	”

Leaderboards are entirely based upon points. They cannot be scoped to different activities. The leaderboard cannot differentiate between why the points were awarded. If a user received 250 points for answering questions and another 250 for asking questions, and a second user received 500 for answering questions, the leaderboard would not be able to tell you which one was the better question answerer, it would just see them both as having 500 points. ~ Leonardo ^{Contributions | Fanon game}
