Red Power Parasites are actually enemies. They latch onto any other enemies. It pumps in Sponge-like cells that the Fiery Bulblax has, preventing any type of pikmin but fire-resistant pikmin (Red Pikmin, Bulbmin, etc.) from attacking the enemy. The Power Parasite's attacks will burn the enemy's skin, not damaging it. Example: If a Spotty Bulbear is latched on by a Red Power Parasite, it will behave like a Fiery Bulblax that will not sleep. Red Pikmin can knock off this parasite.

Red Power Parasites generate cells exactly like the ones the Fiery Bulblax's! They need some victim, definitely not a Pikmin. It powers up its victim, defending it, by giving it cells. It looks like pikmin can knock it off!
