The Moldspitter is an unfortunate Crabblips infected by Sporovid spores appearing in Pikmin Evolution. It appears to be an infected Grubchucker but now its body is grayed and withered due to the spores infecting it, with the spores localizing inside what was once the mouth of the creature. As someone infected with a parasite, the Moldspitter has one goal, kill on sight and eat anything that comes across its way. Using its pincers, it attack any creature in its territory, killing them and later eating their corpses. When they consume these corpses and insert them into the clump of spores on its head, it summons a cloud which releases a small group of Puffmin to protect it. These Puffmin will patrol areas outside of the Moldspitter's territory and attack other creatures, sending them to their master so it can eat the corpse and summon more Puffmin. The Moldspitter can have a maximum of 50 Puffmin at a time, making it quite formidable if your not prepared. True to its name the Moldspitter will also spit clumps of mold all over the floor, slowing anyone who crosses it and decaying them until they die and turn into more mold. This makes the Moldspitter very formidable as an enemy, as it can quickly clog up the battlefield with Puffmin and mold. The Moldspitter is no passive leader as it can use its large pinsirs to pick up and eat and Pikmin in front of it, eating them and converting them into more Puffmind, and since they technically die before they are coverted they can't be converted back. The best Pikmin types to attack this creature are Kelp Pikmin and Roach Pikmin. The former can use their kelp leaves to pull these beast down instantly and allow other types to attack its weakpoint, which is its mold filled head. Roach Pikmin are also a good option as they are immune to the spores and mold that this creature creates, allowing them to take this creature on like a regualar Grubchucker. When it dies all the Puffmin it summons will melt and some will become nectar, so if you can handle the Puffmin the Moldspitter can become an effective way to grind for more nectar. Sometimes the Moldspitter will have a rare chance have the mold clump on its head hatches, revealing a Toxstool that controls the Moldspitter with its spores, in this state the Moldspitter is invicible and will disintigrate when the Toxstool dies. This will only occur in cavernous or damp areas, and when a certain amount of time has passed, similiar to the Waterwraith, making a rare but unwelcome sight.
