The Jungle Bulborb is a grub-dog that uses acid both to repel its attackers and to feast upon its prey. It is a bipedal creature with a light green-colored face, an olive-green back with vivid blue spots, a pair of eyestalks that hold up two bright blue eyes, and a large mouth. The Jungle Bulborb is usually found sleeping, but when leaders or their Pikmin come anywhere remotely close to it, the creature will wake up and attack them. If fled from, it will return to its sleeping spot and resume its slumber. Swarming the Jungle Bulborb with large groups of Pikmin sometimes works, but it is best to sneak up behind it and throw Pikmin, preferably Purple Pikmin, onto its back in rapid succession.

Notes

Olimar's notes

"This creature has a mouth full of what appears to be acid. The jungle bulborb is always awake because the acid continues to burn the inside of the creature, making it unable to sleep or take care of its own young."

Louie's notes

"Drain the acid with a tube and slice the beast in half. Cook until deep-fried, then serve on a plate with a side of lemons. Replace the acid with hot sauce and enjoy your spicy-sour meal."

The Jungle Bulborb resembles a bulborb with brown skin, yellow and green spots, and an impenetrable, mossy back, like a sort of miniature Emperor Bulblax. It normally sleeps, but when awake, it will happily munch on Pikmin. When severely agitated, the Jungle Bulborb will make a deadly acid pour from its mouth, killing all Pikmin, except Green Pikmin, that touch the acid. The acid puddles linger for a few minutes, or until the beast is killed. Fortunately, Green Pikmin are discovered around the time these creatures are first encountered. Only its face and soft underbelly can be attacked by Pikmin.
