The Flarlic Queen is a species of Flarlic appearing in Pikmin Evolution. It is a very rare breed of Flarlic, being capable of automous movement and behavior. Fitting the name of "queen", the Flarlic Queen is a regal and feminine creature with the main body growing out of the top of what appears to be a giant Flarlic. The queen has a pair of soft pink eyes, three long leaf-like appendages to act as arms, an upper body matching the color of the type of Flarlic they associate themselves with, and most notably a crown shaped Queen Candypop Bud growing out of their heads. The Flarlic Queen comes in six different colors, to match the colors of the six types of Pikmin playable in the base game, just like the normal Flarlic. The Flarlic Queen at first appears as a standard harvestable Flarlic, but like the Smokey Progg it will only appear when its birth place is attacked, but not too much. If you attack an inactive Flarlic Queen too soon they will shatter and burst, leaving behind no remains to collect aside from a few dollops of nectar. Rather you should only use weak attacks against an inactive Flarlic Queen as eventually it will fizz and throb until it grows to a massive size and reveal the main body of the queen. The Flarlic Queen at first can't kill your Pikmin directly, but like the Mama Sheargrub, it can crush Pikmin unlucky enough to go under the massive Flarlic making up the queen's lower body. The Flarlic Queen moves in short hops, not particularly targeting your captains or Pikmin. When it hops it will furl its three arms, causing seeds to come out the Candypop Bud on its head. These seeds will revolve around the lower body of the queen, using the sprouts growing out of their tops to act as propellers. The seeds will intercepts and block all direct Pikmin shots, and essentially act like shields to the queen. The only way to pierce this shield is to poke holes in the defense these seeds create, after which time you can attack the lower body. Despite a massive health pool the lower body is completely defenseless without the flying seeds guarding it, though you still should attack quickly as the queen can spawn more seeds to replace the destroyed ones. When the lower body reaches half health the queen will begin to be more directly offensive, as it will now actively chase your captains and gain a new attack where it will spin around like a top and grab Pikmin with its arms, it will then either crush them in the palm of its hands, eat them to regain some health, or toss them back at the captains, burying the Pikmin and damaging the captains heavily. The seeds it spawns will also become numerous as they will now have a second layer revolve around the queen that you need to break as well. When the lower body looses all of its health however the Flarlic Queen will throb in distress until the lower body splits in half, revealing a jagged structure within. The Flarlic Queen becomes even more hostile as it will now shoot out flying thorns from the split in its body which act as razor sharp missiles that will predict where your Pikmin will likely go, making it a very accurate attack. The split lower body will also release spines that shower the battlefield in a magenta gas, which will confuse any Pikmin who breaths it in and cause them to dance around the queen, leaving them vulnerable to the thorns it shoots out. At this stage the Flarlic Queen's lower body is invulnerable to damage, so you now need to attack the upper body. To do this you need to wait for the queen to stop performing another thorn missile attack as that leaves its arms lowered, then you need to have twenty Pikmin (or ten Kelp Pikmin) tug onto each individual arm as the combined force will pull the upper body of the Queen Flarlic from the lower body. This will start a third and final phase where the upper body of the queen will flee from your army, trailing behind several Chlorozoas which will attack your squad if not careful, the lower body will also constantly lob huge gobs of gloom gas, which can instantly kill any Pikmin who breath it in. However both attacks are very slow, predictable, and easy to avoid so this phase is more like a victory lap for your Pikmin. When killed the Flarlic Queen's upper body will shrivel up and decay while the lower body shrinks into a single whole Flarlic, which can be harvested, this Flarlic can be used to spawn fifteen Pikmin of the Flarlic's corresponding color in dens, without the need to harvest fifteen Flarlic cloves. So while the fight with the Flarlic Queen can prove to be daunting, with some perseverance the rewards it brings more than makes up for it.
