'''Fireball Snitchbugs''' are nasty enemies that resemble black [[Swooping Snitchbug]]s with red hands and yellow eyes. When they catch sight of Pikmin or Captains, they will throw balls of flame at them, which can be very annoying and dangerous. They will often ride Dweevils in a symbiotic relationship, the Dweevil acting as a fast ride for the Snitchbug, and the Snitchbug acting as protection for the shy Dweevil. They are an invasive species in some parts of the planet.

The Fireball Snitchbug is a new enemy appearing in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature has the body composition of a Swooping Snitchbug, but its coloration is different; it has a black body with red stripes, and red arms, white antennae, and red eyes, and its hands appear burnt, possibly due to constantly handling fire. The Fireball Snitchbug will fly around until it spots Pikmin. Once it does, it will spawn two fireballs in its hands. After flying around for a few seconds, it will swoop down and throw them at the group. The fireballs will explode into a pool of magma and flame on impact, burning non-Red Pikmin that touch it. Rubber Pikmin hit by the fireball will deflect it back at the enemy. However, after this divebomb, the Fireball Snitchbug needs five seconds to conjure new fireballs. This is the chance to weigh it down to the ground for attack. Winged Pikmin are effective as they are very effective at aerial combat, but a Rock or Purple Pikmin can weigh down the creature instantly. Iguana Pikmin can easily attack the creature from afar with their tongue. Dart Pikmin can weigh it down instantly upon being hit. Once the creature is weighed down, it will shake around for 3 seconds before bursting into flame and getting back up to shake off any Red Pikmin that may still be attached.

Fireball Snitchbugs are nasty scarpanids that resemble black Swooping Snitchbugs with red hands and yellow eyes. When they see Pikmin or leaders, they will throw balls of fire at them, burning anything they hit except for Red Pikmin. They will often ride dweevils in a display of a symbiotic relationship, the dweevil acting as a fast mount for the Fireball Snitchbug, and the snitchbug acting as protection for the shy dweevil. Fireball Snitchbugs are an invasive species in some parts of PNF-404.
