The Bloatstool is a species of stationary sprovid appearing in Pikmin Evolution. It has a similar stem and eyes to a typical member of its species, but it lacks any legs and its cap is a massive segmented red or purple sphere depending on where its from, the red one in particular has more translucent jelly-like cap while the purple one is more solid. It is mainly found in dens most commonly in the Cavern of Fangs, Slumbering Meadows, and Melancholy Castle but it can be found in the overworld acting as a annoyance in some areas. As it lacks methods of movement it is completely stationary unlike most sporovids, so it makes up this flaw with being nigh unbreakable. The cap of the Bloatstool surrounds the entire creature, meaning no attack can actually damage it, rather any Pikmin who tries to attack will just bounce off of the sporovid's cap harmlessly. Bloastools are less like enemies and more like obstacles that must be worked around, as the Bloatstool lacks any attacks that can actually kill Pikmin. Bloatstools often are stationed between corridors, meaning that they make these passages inaccessible for Pikmin and captains to walk through, restricting movement overall. There are two types of Bloatstools, red and purple. The red Bloatstools are more common than the purple ones and are always active, I e you always see them out of the ground, their jelly-like cap can make them susceptible to being frozen so if you have a cyan syrup you can freeze the red Bloatstool and destroy it. While red Bloatstools are always found out of the ground, in the Melacholy Castle they only appear when the Waterwraith appears, which acts as a way to make hiding from it harder as without cyan syrups you can't access most passages in the cave. The purple Bloatstools only appear in the Slumbering Meadows and the Cavern of Fangs, at first in the former they act as flat, tarp-like ground, however they are sensititve to sound and when something like a Warbling Phosbat activates its loud call, the Bloatstool inflates itself and will only deflate itself when all active enemies alerted by the call return to their normal behaviors. Unlike the red ones, the purple Bloatstools cant be destroyed under any circumstances, however The ones in Cavern of Fangs, who are always active, are able to be destroyed by Shadegrubs but that is an exception to the rule, and otherwise are unkillable. Overall the Bloatstools are more nuisances than dangers, but the way they annoy can be quite detrimental.
