Template:Infobox Enemy The Mud-Belcher is a burrowing enemy found in Pikmin Z. It has a long, segmented body, and resembles a serpent-like worm, with a circular mouth.

Biology

  • Diet: small animals
  • Predators: ???

The Mud-Belcher is a underground, subterranean hunter, similar to the Burrowing Snagret in multiple behaviors. It is able to be found in every sublevel of the Muddy Bog after level three, though it can't be attacked until the final level, a behavior mirroring the Waterwraith. It will launch itself out of the ground at your squad, and burrow itself again moments after the attack.

Piklopedia entry

This is a fully subterranean creature, possibly a descendent to the Sand-Belcher. When threatened, its main form of defense is to create a mixture within itself, possibly gathered while its burrowing.

Strategy

Within the final floor of the dungeon, the Mud-Belcher will burrow and launch itself from one surface to another in a long stream. You're going to have to avoid its attacks until it stops to rest, only then you being able to throw your pikmin at it. Attempts to throw Pikmin on during burrowing will kill any pikmin latched on. You can also stop a Mud-Belcher by making it launch into rocks, stunning it temporarily, though this won't make it stay still as long.
