The '''Black Bulborb''' is a rare form of [[Grub-dog family|grub-dog]] appearing in ''[[Pikmin: Louie's Adventure]]''. It is extremely ferocious, walking and attacking twice as fast as a common [[Red Bulborb]]. It is also constantly awake and roaming areas in which it is found. If one of these creatures spots its prey, it will pursue them at high speeds, not stopping until it kills them or is killed. To defeat the Black Bulborb with as few casualties as possible, amass an army of as many [[Purple Pikmin]] as possible and fill the remainder with [[Red Pikmin]]. Seek high ground, as it will allow the Black Bulborb to be attacked without being able to reach the [[leader]] there for a while. However, the Black Bulborb is notorious for its ability to maneuver around obstacles to reach its prey. Engaging the enemy is still possible without high ground but not recommended. Rain Purple Pikmin down upon the Black Bulborb, causing it to be temporarily stunned, only stopping when it is dead. If no Purple Pikmin are available, throw Red Pikmin instead. Repeat this tactic, but do not leave the battleground for reinforcements. If left alone, the Black Bulborb will regain health at an alarming rate, and if killed, it will still slowly recover health. Upon reaching half of its total health, it will revive to wreak havoc once more.

It is recommended not to engage the Black Bulborb in combat unless necessary due to the complication of [[Onion]]s in night mode being incapable of storing Pikmin or creating more. However, the Onion will still absorb the bodies, meaning that the body does not have to be abandoned. A Black Bulborb will yield the Black Pearl upon its initial defeat, however, so it may be worth the risk.
If this creature is spotted, avoid at all costs unless you have a large Pikmin squad! It is extremely ferocious, having a walking and attacking speed twice as fast as that of the common [[Red Bulborb]]. It is also awake and patrolling.


Always keep an eye out when adventuring. If one of these creatures spots its prey, it will pursue them at high speeds. Note that a Black Bulborb has no boundary line where it will stop. If this creature spots the player, they have to either kill it or perish!

As for actually killing, grab as many [[Purple Pikmin]] as possible and fill the remainder with [[Red Pikmin]]. Try to find high ground. The high ground will allow the Night Bulborb to be attacked without it reaching the Captain for a while. However, the Black Bulborb is notorious among players for its ability to maneuver around obstacles to get to the player. If high ground cannot be found, engaging the enemy is possible but not recommended.
