The Sweet Scornetbird is a bee hummingbird-like creature appearing in Pikmin 5: Apex Predator. It serves as a minor nuisance in Lover's Spring. Roughly the size of a Bumbling Snitchbug, it flies around in search of nectar weed. Once it finds some, it will begin pecking it with its beak with the intent of finding and drinking the nectar it yields. The Scornetbird is a slow eater, so there is plenty of time to interrupt it. When approached by a large group of Pikmin, the Scornetbird will fly off most times, but on rare occasions, it will only retreat a small distance away to try waiting for any spare nectar. Throwing a few of Pikmin at it will keep it away for good.

The Sweet Scornetbird is usually too fast to kill easily, with its speed comparable to an Antenna Beetle's. However, stunning power-ups will paralyze the Sweet Scornetbird, allowing Pikmin to kill it effectively. Doing so, however, is not recommended because Sweet Scornetbirds only provide a mere few seeds upon delivering them to the Onion, which is not worth the use of the powerup. Olimar's notes on the Sweet Scornetbird mention it received its name because it was initially mistaken for a Scornet when first found flying at rapid speed.
