Attacks Crushes and suffocates Pikmin, produces bomb rocks

The Scornet Layman is a new miniboss encountered in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The Scornet resembles the Scornet Maestro but lacks strings between its beak, has purple wings with pink markings, blue hands and tail, and yellow feathers atop its head. The Scornet Layman is also slightly smaller than the Maestro. Unlike the Maestro, which fights with the Scornet Prince and smaller Scornets, the solitary Layman fights by itself. The creature will initially swoop down into the arena, scaring Pikmin, displaying its sharp claws and bellowing a loud roar, signaling the battle.

The Layman will constantly stay floating above the group of Pikmin. When it decides to attack, it will scream and begin to make a choking noise, and after some moments, the bug will spit out five large balls of wet fur. Afterward, it will stack the balls into a tower, and then begin to throw them at the Pikmin. Any Pikmin caught in a ball will be stuck and begin to suffocate unless whistled out. Rubber Pikmin cannot be stuck in the fur. The fur balls can be destroyed by Blue Pikmin. Another attack of the Layman is spitting out three enormously large bomb rocks and then throwing them onto the ground to prime them. The bombs then explode after ten seconds, creating a much larger explosion than normal bomb rocks produce. However, its main attack is pulling its arm back, seemingly pulling a large chunk of dirt in the shape of a ball. The Layman will throw it at the group, crushing any Pikmin caught in the attack. However, when it settles, fifteen Pikmin can carry it to the nearest one of the three catapults around the arena's wall and use them to launch the large ball of dirt at the Layman, knocking it down to the ground to attack. For each time it is hit, the number of objects created during each attack increases. At one-third health, the creature will destroy two of the three catapults and use its dirt to construct a brick wall around the last one. One of the captains must pick up a bomb rock the Laymin spits out and throw it at the wall to destroy it. Defeating a Scornet Layman for the first time will grant the "Scornet Outcast" achievement.

Notes

Olimar's notes

Being a male Scornet Maestro, this species seems to sport a pair of wings, unlike most males. It seems after constant rejection from mates, very few species of Scornets decide to isolate themselves from the pack. These species of Scornet get rejected to their strange mutations of conjuring and telekinesis. How the creature got the abilities is unknown, so mutation is the current theory,

Louie's notes

Although tasty, the plates and spoons began to float around me... Would not recommend eating!

President’s notes

This large bug can move objects with its mind!? I thought nothing was possible at that point! I tested Olimar by throwing a blob of mud at his head so he could stop it with his mind... but I don't think he's able to do that. I'm currently hiding in the engine room of the Dolphin... Send help!
