Attacks Burns, incinerates, and eats Pikmin

The Pyro Phoenix is a large boss flines in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. It is a ginormous bird, being a bit larger than a Quaggled Mireclops, with orange feathers and dark red markings. The bird's feathers are very long, with its crest being bushy and of yellow coloring. The creature has a yellow beak, and red eyes with yellow pupils. Its main, glaring feature is the large bout of flames engulfing the entire bird's body, with bits of lava and embers dropping off of it. From far away, the Pyro Phoenix can be seen circling around its arena, giving the leaders a view of what they are about to fight. Upon entering the arena, the large bird will reveal itself, flying in front of the sun and diving down towards the Pikmin. It will fly a bit above them and let out a blaring screech, beginning the battle.

The Pyro Phoenix is one of the most difficult bosses, and only Red Pikmin can harm it. The creature has a variety of horrific attacks in its arsenal. Its main attack is spitting large balls of flame at the group, and if a fireball hits the ground, it will create a large pool of lava. Alternatively, it may shoot a flame ball at the middle of the arena and then release four lines of flame in the form of a plus-shape, trapping Pikmin in one segment of the arena until the flames dissipate after twenty seconds. Along with this, the Phoenix may fly to one side of the arena, signifying its most deadly attack: it will burp out a large flame on half of the other arena grounds, and any non-Red Pikmin caught in the flame are guaranteed to perish. Occasionally, the Phoenix may dive down at the group, spreading fire on the crowd and scooping up Pikmin to eat. It will fly low while eating, allowing for Pikmin to be thrown at the bird's head to rescue the captured Pikmin. If enough Red Pikmin are thrown, the creature will fall down, allowing for an attack. Beware, as the Pyro Phoenix will eventually begin to flap its wings to get back up, spouting bits of flame everywhere. Rubber Pikmin can reflect the fire attacks only in this phase.

When half of the Pyro Phoenix's health is depleted, the creature will enter its second phase, its flames turning blue. In this form, the Phoenix is much faster, stronger, and deadlier. Its most deadly aspect is its blue flame. If the blue flames of any major attack hit any type of Pikmin, they will be incinerated and killed instantly. If smaller bits of blue fire from moving around, diving, or flailing hit any Pikmin, it will only light them up. However, when the Pyro Phoenix is eating, it will revert to an orange hue, allowing for Red Pikmin to attack. Once the creature gets back up from an attack, its flames become blue again. Once it's killed, the boss's flames extinguish, allowing any Pikmin type to carry its remains.

Notes

Olimar's notes

This massive bird can produce flames due to its fire-retardant feathers. The Phoenix constantly absorbs massive amounts of heat from the hottest climates in order to keep its flames constantly burning. Due to its size and ferocity, the Pyro Phoenix is at the very top of the food chain. This creature virtually has no predators. Perhaps this is why the Pyro Phoenix has grown to such a size.

Louie's notes

This giant bird is best roasted and basted, filled up with a posy filling, and covered in many plants to add flavor. The creature is a good substitute for turkey at any holiday event!

President’s notes

Thankfully, I was able to take a picture of this large bird with my camera. However, my camera kind of melted during the battle... It must've been extremely hot! I wonder how Red Pikmin are able to manage these flames...
