The Pincing Crystasinge (クリスタルアーマーマンティス?, lit.: "Crystal Armor Mantis") is a jellyper in Pikmin 5 that brutally attacks if threatened. It ignores creatures and Pikmin until they get close to it, and then rubs its antennae together. This creates a mild screeching sound intended to deter away predators. The jewels on its antennae are also used to lure in small insects. Once attacked, it begins to rapidly stab Pikmin with its pincers and drags them into its mouth. Pikmin thrown at it are simply picked up and eaten. Its head and back can not be attacked as they are armored. The key to defeating it without any losses is to throw Rock Pikmin at it, which it attempts to stab but hurts its pincers instead because Rock Pikmin are so tough. After this, it gets knocked over and its belly can be attacked. It can be defeated before unlocking Rock Pikmin, done by charging Pikmin directly at its belly, but this is risky because its pincers are in front of its belly and it can stab any Pikmin under it.
