The Orange-Eyed Bulbear is a large grub-dog found on the planet Aridia in Pikmin: Planetary Encounters. It has a darkly-tanned face, a gray backside, and huge orange eyeballs that lack pupils. Its special eyes help it to see and hunt in dark or hazardous environments. The Orange-Eyed Bulbear is a very dangerous predator, as it will immediately hunt down leaders and their Pikmin the moment they land, either in an area or in a sublevel. Fortunately, it has less health than other bulbears, but its large mouth allows it to eat more Pikmin than the average bulbear. After its defeat, an Orange-Eyed Bulbear will eventually revive, meaning its remains must be disposed of quickly if another fight against it is undesired.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “This colossal beast has a pair of ultra binocular-like eyes that allow it to see prey from a very large distance. Its eyeballs allow it to scan horizons and plains for food. The supercells in its eyes radiate inside of the irises, which causes it to see all prey as green figures. I should know because I have been targeted by these beasts several times while on Aridia.”
Louie's notes
- “The eyeballs are very high in protein, so you can make them as spaghetti and eyeballs or shred them into a high-protein drink.”
