The Kokonut is an enemy that appears in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature resembles a plant, like most in their species. The Kokonut is comprised of a three-leaved bottom with a thick, green stem. The flower is of a pink coloration with blue stripes, and in the center is a yellow-rimmed opening. This plant can come in a variety of different sizes depending on where they come from, which affects the size and lethality of the coconuts.
The Kokonut will initially only sway around idly. However, once approached, the Kokonut will aim at Pikmin and fire off a large coconut from their flower. This coconut will be shot out in a wide arc. If the coconut lands on any Pikmin, it will crush and kill them. As soon as the coconut hits the ground, it will crack open and pour out a large pool of coconut milk. This milk will drown any non-Blue Pikmin that dare enter it. The milk will end up drying after twenty seconds, resulting in the area being full of milk puddles. After firing a coconut, the Kokonut will take five seconds to recharge before firing yet another fruit at the squad. Every fourth coconut that fires will not be cracked open, staying there and sparkling before rapidly decaying into the ground after thirty seconds.
It can be very hard to take down a Kokonut, as even if the blunt force-resistant Rock Pikmin and milk-resistant Blue Pikmin are used, they can barely do damage to the flower's hard stem. However, the captain can pick up the non-broken coconuts and throw them at the Kokonut plant, removing a third of its health and a petal. After three Kokonuts hit the plant, it withers away and dies. A fire starter is also extremely effective at burning away and destroying the plant.
In Overlord mode, the Kokonut will fire much faster, with the milk puddles drying after ten seconds. Along with this, every fifth coconut will detonate a few seconds after landing, making it extremely dangerous.

- “This odd plant seems to have the ability to produce coconuts at an extremely fast rate. Due to having extreme amounts of energy stored inside of it, the process of growth for coconuts is drastically sped up, shooting out these fruits at any predators who try to eat them. It’s noted that the Kokonut not only feeds on sunlight and water like most plants but also eats small flies and bugs that go near the center of it.”
