Attacks Burns Pikmin, produces lubricant

The Geothermal Ribbifin is an enemy in Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers. A tripedal frogfish-like creature, the fish is covered in many hair-like spinules of a salmon color. It has a snarling mouth of interlocking fangs, though it is not predatory. Its buggy eyes glow a piercing yellow color. As with the Archertongue Ribbifin, the Geothermal Ribbifin stands in place, only turning around to face the squad. To attack, it will gag profusely and spit up a ball of ignited lubricant that settles as a flaming puddle on the ground. If attacked by Pikmin, it will wash them off by secreting a fine film of bodily oils, which will also form a puddle on the ground and can also be set on fire by its spit.

If encountered in water, the Geothermal Ribbifin's spit will take the form of black smoke akin to a hydrothermal vent's. However, it's not as potent as the latter's smoke, and Pikmin can be saved from it.

Notes

Olimar's notes

This species of fish secretes a thick oil from its body. Furthermore, its saliva contains chemicals that ignite when combined with squalene and glycerol, of which can be found in its bodily oils. When faced with potential threats, it will spit its saliva, which mixes with bodily oils seeping through its lips. This causes the saliva to light ablaze, which can prove fatal to its adversary. In addition to this, the burning of the oils releases a foul odor to deter them anyway.

Louie's notes

It simply can not be cooked without setting everything in your kitchen on fire and stinking it up due to the omnipresence of oil in its body. Even if you could, it's just too unhealthy due to the oil content.
