The Flaky Long Legs is a species of arachnorb that appears in Pikmin Evolution. Acting as a stand-in for the game's featured arachnorb, the Flaky Long Legs is a very common boss that appears in multiple locations. Its body is primarily white, with specks that can be different colors depending on the area, and has a more sturdy appearance compared to other arachnorbs, with what appears to be extendable support bars appearing between its leg segments. Unlike other arachnorbs, it is always visible, tending to cling to trees to slurp the tree sap inside. However, it is quite territorial, using its feet to cause tremors to scare away anything that crosses its territory. If the intruders remain and continue to disturb it, the Flaky Long Legs will drop down and attempt to crush them with its feet. However, the creature has an interesting design flaw in that it is sturdy enough to withstand large blunt impacts from bigger sources but not multiple small blunt force impacts. This fact is important as Pikmin can be thrown at the legs of a Flaky Long Legs to cause them to shatter into smaller fragments of a bark-like substance. Be aware that its constant stomping will shake off any Pikmin on the current leg. When all but one of its legs are broken, the arachnorb will fall over and reveal a fleshy bulbous weakpoint for Pikmin to attack. Despite being literally on its last leg, the Flaky Long Legs is still dangerous, as it will try to push Pikmin aside and scatter them, and since that leg is out of reach, it can't easily be hit. After a while, the Long Legs will repair its limbs and become faster the more health it loses. Depending on the location, the Flaky Long Legs may employ other battle tactics; some may have six legs rather than the standard four, some may have longer and therefore more durable legs than usual, and some will have their legs covered in amber resin, requiring intense heat or moisture to render the legs vulnerable. Regardless of its form, after defeat, the Flaky Long Legs will explode into confetti and drop a random piece of refuse.

The Flaky Long Legs is a boss in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature resembles most arachnorbs of its species, as its main body is a large orb. The orb is made out of a flaky bark material, resembling wood. The color of the wood can come in many different colors, ranging from brown, to white, to orange. Four spindly legs help hold up the flaky legs of the arachnorb, and its feet are also flaky and small.
The Flaky Long Legs rests idly in its arena. It’s only when it’s approached that the arachnorb will suddenly get up and initiate a fight. The Flaky Long Legs will smash its legs around the arena, although it’s a lot slower than most of its species. The arachnorb will occasionally stop to rest after a few cycles of stomping its feet, stopping to rest for about twenty seconds before continuing. The orb of the Flaky Long Legs is covered in an extremely dense bark that cannot be damaged by throwing Pikmin at its orb. However, the legs of the boss are weak and can be attacked by all types of Pikmin. If damaged, the legs of the boss will shatter apart into wood fragments. Once three legs are broken, the boss will be rendered immobile. As a leg is broken, it will remain broken before regenerating back on the arachnorb after one minute.
The Flaky Long Legs is a relatively weak boss. Any type of Pikmin can easily damage the legs of the boss. Snapdragon Pikmin can easily burn the wood of the Pikmin with their fire attack, which can deal extra damage. Weighted Pikmin and Rock Pikmin can also take on the arachnorb without risking death by blunt force. No matter what type is used, the arachnorb will often go down very quickly. Defeating a Flaky Long Legs for the first time will grant the "Bonfire Fuel" achievement.
In Overlord mode, the Flaky Long Legs will regenerate its health after thirty seconds. Along with this, the beast will occasionally open up its orb to drip sap all over Pikmin below. This sap will cause the Pikmin to get stuck unless whistled out of it.
