The Azure Bulborb is a grub-dog in Pikmin I. It possesses an azure-colored back, true to its name, that has purple spots. Most strikingly, its fangs are positioned at the from of its mouth rather than the sides, giving a somewhat goofy appearance. Even with its name, the Azure Bulborb is more closely related to the Black Bulbear, as it engages in activities such as patrolling a set path with its offspring, hoping to feed on unsuspecting creatures which come into or close to its patrolling range.

- “The Azure Bulborb is a species of grub-dog I never suspected anything about. It can live up to three weeks without food and has evolved a long snout and front teeth. This allows it to destroy most structures to access its prey's hiding spots but makes the process of eating prey slower.”
