The Zen Garden is the first area in Pikmin: A Son's Quest, being where the main protagonist, Sagittarius, crashlands and where he finds the Red Pikmin. Seven ship parts and eight units of food are found here.
Layout
This springtime garden is smaller in size than most areas, making it faster to navigate and overcome. It's mostly open-ended and nonlinear, save for areas that require a type of Pikmin found later. Some points of interest are a small river, two tree stumps, and a cave that requires Yellow Pikmin to enter.
Story
- Day one
Sagittarius crashlands into a hollow tree stump. After pulling himself together from the shock of the crash, he steps out to find some Red Pikmin beside their Onion. He calls them to his side and after bringing their population to at least thirty Pikmin, takes the engine to his ship, automatically ending the day.
- Day two and beyond
Returning here on the second day is optional but may prove wise as there are several fruits and vegetables to stock up on. Additionally, Pikmin can be propagated, more ship parts can be recovered, and the path to the area's boss, the Wolpin, can be cleared. An entire day should be devoted to battling the boss, and after it is defeated, no more story events happen here.
