Caloradix robustus
Wickweed plants grow in some areas of Pikmin X: Deep Freeze. The developing buds of this plant generate immense amounts of energy from within, which cause them to illuminate at night and attract nocturnal insect pollinators. To deter predators, the buds combust if broken, which can be used to the player's advantage. A patch of Wickweed will generally have up to ten buds growing atop it, which Pikmin can carry and deploy much like bomb rocks. Once set by a Pikmin, a wickweed bud will carpet a small area around itself with fire after a few seconds. This does not deal explosion damage and deals less instant damage than a bomb-rock, but the fire lingers for a decent amount of time and deals small amounts of damage to enemies within radius over time. Any Pikmin can carry wickweed buds, but Red Pikmin are strongly recommended as the resulting fire can harm other Pikmin types. Wickweed buds can be used to destroy certain flammable obstacles, such as bramble walls and ice blockades.
