The Virus Bulblax is a corrupted relative of the Fiery Bulblax. It has a dark gray face, a purple top lip, purple fangs, a black backside covered in purple spikes, and purple eyes with white sclerae. It behaves and attacks in a much similar fashion to others of its kind, but radiates darkness and can spit darkness at Pikmin. This makes the Virus Bulblax extremely dangerous, as shadow kills all but Black Pikmin. Because of the spikes on its back, a Virus Bulblax can skewer Pikmin that are thrown onto it. Virus Bulblaxes can also roll side-to-side to impale or crush nearby Pikmin. To fight a Virus Bulblax, it is recommended to bring between fifty to seventy Black Pikmin. Virus Bulblaxes fake their sleep to catch prey off-guard, making sneaking up behind them crucial. Instead of swarming Pikmin into a Virus Bulblax, throw them onto its back instead.
