It is a secret society that has existed since the eighteenth century and has pulled the strings of various governments throughout human history, usually ending catastrophically. However, just as the human race began to learn of the Illuminati's ulterior motives in the year 2065, it initiated World War III, a worldwide conflict resulting in an estimated six billion casualties. Afterward, the surviving unaffiliated humans fled to the habitable moons of {{w|Jupiter}} and {{w|Saturn}}, and the Illuminati's members fled to an unknown part of the milky way galaxy, outside of the solar system. | |||

Meanwhile, the Illuminati began to dabble with hybridization and traveling between dimensions.
