The Tan Pikmin is a species of Pikmin that often is resistant to mud, sand, or related elements.

Tan Pikmin are the third type of Pikmin discovered in Pikmin 3. They can safely traverse through muddy water. Blue Pikmin can not traverse through muddy water, and likewise, Tan Pikmin cannot traverse through clean water. Tan Pikmin die faster from poison because they have two pairs of external, feathery gills.

In Pikmin: The Big Trip, Tan Pikin are the last Pikmin discovered. They can cross pools of mud whereas other Pikmin will just sink and die in it. Tan Pikmin are first found by throwing Pikmin into a Mud Candypop Bud, but their Onion can be found later.

Tan Pikmin are the second-to-last Pikmin found in Pikmin: Redemption, discovered after finding and throwing a Pikmin into an Umber Candypop Bud, located somewhere in the Oasis. Tan Pikmin are able to change quicksand pits into solid ground, allowing other Pikmin to safely pass. They can also sense sandstorms occurring in the Oasis from the air, and so they can be seen on the area select screen as a swirling tornado. Sandstorms are dangerous to all but Tan Pikmin, as only they have skin thick enough to withstand the sand particles blowing in the violent winds.

Beige Pikmin in Pikmin: Shadow Planet can walk on quicksand and turn quicksand pits into solid ground by being thrown in them. After being in quicksand for twenty to thirty seconds, they will pop back out, killing any Pikmin on top. When Beige Pikmin go into the quicksand, any burrowed enemies and buried treasures will pop out. They are the seventh Pikmin discovered, and they are found in the Volcano.
