Tan Pikmin are the second-to-last Pikmin found in Pikmin: Redemption, discovered after finding and throwing a Pikmin into an Umber Candypop Bud, located somewhere in the Oasis. Tan Pikmin are able to change quicksand pits into solid ground, allowing other Pikmin to safely pass. Tan Pikmin are the third type of Pikmin discovered in Pikmin 3 (Flish Edition). They can safely traverse through muddy water. Blue Pikmin cannot traverse through muddy water, and likewise, Tan Pikmin cannot traverse through clean water. Tan Pikmin die faster from poison because they have two pairs of external, feathery gills.

After being in quicksand for twenty to thirty seconds, they will pop back out, killing any Pikmin on top.
