Simply swarm the blowhog. The Pikmin should be called back when the Blowhog begins to buck. If the Pikmin are thrown off, then they usually lose their flowers, and non-whites will have trouble with the poison jet. Calling the Pikmin with the whistle will save them if they get in contact with the gas. As always, a considerable amount of Purple Pikmin will kill the Blowhog if thrown onto it. You can also leave some whites alone to face the Smoky Blowhog without harm, but steer the Blowhog away from any potential danger.

The Smokey Blowhog is a new enemy in Pikmin: New World. It is a variety of elemental ground-based Blowhog that looks identical to the Watery or Fiery Blowhogs except with a shiny-black tip to its snout and tint to its skin. It also has a strange, foggy pattern to its skin. It is uncommon to find on the surface just like the other Blowhogs in the game. It blasts a hazy, toxic gas that, instead of looking like normal poison gas, looks like the poison gas emitted by the Smoky Progg. This blast will kill all types of Pikmin except for White Pikmin.

Strategy

Simply swarm the Blowhog. The Pikmin should be called back when the Blowhog begins to buck. If the Pikmin are thrown off, then they usually lose their flowers, and non-whites will have trouble with the poison jet. Calling the Pikmin with the whistle will save them if they get in contact with the gas. As always, a decent amount of Purple Pikmin will kill the Blowhog if thrown onto it. You can also leave some White Pikmin alone to face the Smoky Blowhog without harm, but steer the Blowhog away from any potential danger.

"The igniting phosphor and catalysts are present in this species of Blowhog but the reaction is hindered by certain chemical impurities in the catalysts. This causes the watery liquid to emerge as a poisonous vapor. This vapor not only contains toxic amounts of phosphorous, but also a considerable amount of arsenic, carbon-monoxide and tritium. These chemicals being present in its body make the species prone to developing various kinds of cancer and premature death. Though this has significantly lowered the population of the species, they are capable of reproducing rapidly to prevent the decline of their population."

Louie's Notes

"The gas cannot be gotten rid of by cooking or draining its gas bladder, as the flesh itself contains the impurities to make it poisonous. Consumption may result in uncontrollable bathroom breaks, shivering, unpredictable bellows out of doom and despair and greatly increased pessimism."

Sagittarius's Note

"Definitely not a good pet. It causes carbon monoxide detectors to go off just by going into the room they are in. Gas masks for everyone are required before this beast is acceptable in the household."

Libra's Notes

"Only wear when very desperate to attract publicity. If you want to leave a lasting impression then you had better do in now. Chances are it will be the last time you'll ever wear it."
