The Sickly Wollywog is a new enemy encountered in Pikmin: Infection in Progress. Sickly Wollywogs reside in the more watery areas of PNF-404, and typically idle in Polluted Water until The President or his Pikmin approach. The President is able to assist in carrying the corpse of a Sickly Wollywog.

Appearance

Sickly Wollywogs possess an unnatural green body with a purple bottom to it. The limbs of the creature end in orange, and the entire body proves to possess an intriguing color scheme. The eyes of a Sickly Wollywog are bright yellow with black slit pupils. The eyes themselves are surrounded with a white pigment. When in contact with Polluted Water, Sickly Wollywogs will appear much shinier and cloudier than usual. Wet Sickly Wollywogs will appear like this if they are idle in Polluted Water or are protected by it during combat. Sickly Wollywogs have a shape and size identical to that of an ordinary Wollywog.

Combat

A Sickly Wollywog that has been initiated into combat relies heavily on Polluted Water for protection. After exiting a pool of Polluted Water, Sickly Wollywogs will have temporary invincibility to anything except the President's attacks. Sickly Wollywogs dry off after landing from a jump or remaining out of the water for precisely five seconds. Polluted Water will splash off of a Sickly Wollywog and cause surrounding Pikmin to begin drowning unless whistled at. Once no longer protected, a Sickly Wollywog will attempt to return to a pool of water. This can be halted or stopped completely by throwing fourteen White Pikmin, seven medium-weight Pikmin, or three Purple Pikmin onto it.

Trivia

  • The Sickly Wollywog's appearance is based off of the appearance for the Crystal_Maro_Frog file from Pikmin 3, albeit lacking the crystal at the bottom of the model.
