Area Summary
The Shadowy Grotto is the 2nd area accessible in Pikmin: Rediscovery. It is unlocked by rescuing Charlie from a Red Bulborb in the Reawakening Grove. This area is a huge, volcanic plain that resembles the Forest Navel from Pikmin 1. The only difference is, a huge amount of light comes from the Common Glowcaps here. And there are a lot of enemies that hide in the shadows, waiting to snack on your Pikmin. Rock Pikmin and the new species Umber Pikmin are found here as well as 16 fruits. There are certain fruits that are accessible once Carmine Pikmin, which are lava-resistant, are discovered.
When coming to this area for the first time, Brittany is lost after a crash landing, and is fairly deep within the areas. She sends you messages through the Koppad as you get closer and explore more parts of the Grotto.
