Pikmin: Adventures of Olimar follows the series main protaganist (Olimar) as he returns to the Pikmin planet once more. The game takes place between the events of Pikmin DS and Pikmin Wii.


Story

After continuously going to the Pikmin Planet and back quite a few times, Olimar decides that he needs a well deserved vacation to get away from it all. Unfortunately, word got out about the captain's discoveries on the planet, so the next day Olimar woke up to the sound of local scientists pounding at the door. When he answers, the scientists explain how intruiged they are about Olimar's amazing discoveries, and ask him to return to the planet once more to research the many species of life there. Before Olimar can refuse, the scientists added in that, if he accepted and researched the planet's life-forms, he would be offered a hearty reward of 25,000 Pokos. Olimar immediately changes his mind and accepts, as his family was running into deep financial issues. After saying his goodbyes, the captain grabs Louie and they blast off in the S.S. Dolphin towards the Pikmin Planet, where an unknown evil is brewing...


Controls

Wii remote + Nunchuck

Analog stick: Move Olimar/Louie, make selections, move cursor (Control option 1)
D-pad: Use sprays (up/down), sort through Pikmin (left/right)
A: Throw Pikmin, accept, advance dialogue, punch (with no Pikmin)
B: Whistle, back/cancel
+: View monitor
Z: Dismiss Pikmin by color
1: Switch captains
2: Fall asleep
C: Order Pikmin (Hold C while pointing the Wii remote in the desired direction)
Pointer: Aim cursor by pointing the Wii remote at the screen (Control option 2)

Classic Controller

A: Throw Pikmin, accept, advance dialogue, punch (with no Pikmin)
B: Whistle, back/cancel
X: Dismiss Pikmin by color
Y: Switch Captains
D-pad: Use sprays (up/down), sort through Pikmin (left/right)
Left analog stick: Move Olimar/Louie, make selections, move cursor
Right analog stick: Order Pikmin
+ (Start): View monitor
