Enemy Bio
The Ornate Bulborb is a large Grub-dog family member bearing stripes on it's back, rather than dots. the Ornate Bulborb also bears a coloration similar to that of the Whiptongue Bulborb. The Ornate Bulborb will roam the area much like that of a Spotty Bulbear, but rather than lumbering around, the Ornate Bulborb walks more similarly to that of a Whiptongue Bulborb in that it walks at a fast, calculated pace. Also similar to the Whiptongue Bulborb in behavior, the Ornate Bulborb will occasionally sniff around. While doing so, if there are any leaders or Pikmin close enough, the Ornate Bulborb will begin walking closer to the position of the nearby group. In combat with Pikmin, the Ornate Bulborb is a very quick eater, being able to swallow pikmin at twice the rate of a normal Red Bulborb.
Olimar's Notes
A Grub-dog subspecies of average size, the ornate bulborb has a much more acute sense of smell than most other Grub-dogs. The ornate bulborb has a ravenous appetite, and so it can normally be found patrolling a territory in search for food. Take immense caution while treading through these creature's territory.
Louie's Notes
This beast bears a rough hide that is far too gamy for most dishes, but when seasoned and tenderized just right, the final dish is rewarding. Serve with your choice of lemon or mango sauce.
Battle Strategy
The easiest way to kill the Ornate Bulborb is by getting it to consume a bomb rock. If taking the beast head-on, be aware that the Ornate Bulborb is very smart and resilient: if you attack its eyes, it will turn its eyes away and shake the pikmin off.
