The Mushstool is a species of sporovid appearing in Pikmin Evolution. It is a lapis lazuli-colored Sporovid with the shape and size of a Puffstool but has a waxy cap covered in thick mucus. It has a pointed spike on the top of its head from which it can scatter more mucus. The Mushstool is notable because at first it appears in the distance shooting sticky mucus all around the area its found it while the other enemies take advantage of the opportunity to attack your stuck squadron of Pikmin. The enemies that assist the Mushstool on the way to its lair include the Moldy Dwarf Bulborb, Puffstalk, and Moldspitter. This mucus it summons can be cleaned by any Pikmin type, however Kelp Pikmin seem to be the best type to remove it thanks to their longer leaves. When up close the Mushstool places mucus over its body, making it more resistant to damage. To remove this mucus you need to attack the body just enough to trigger the Mushstool to flip its cap, scattering the mucus everywhere and trapping anyone who enters it. In this state the Mushstool will run from you and attempt to clumsily flee, allowing your squad to easily wail on it. However, after some time, the Mushstool will have its cap absorb all the mucus on the field and then close its cap over its body, reapplying the mucus and eating any Pikmin either trapped in the mucus on the battlefield or attacking the main body, killing them. It is quite a tanky and hardy enemy as well, being immune to the acidic taste of Germ Pikmin and an explosion from a lit Elixer Pikmin. Upon reaching half health the Mushstool gains a new attack where it can flip over its body and spin around, scattering more mucus and pushing any Pikmin caught in its spin away, possibly into a nearby mucus blob or abyss. However the mucus body is actually a major weakness to it as since its a fluid, it can be frozen solid by a frezing cyan syrup, freezing the Mushstool in place and allowing all Pikmin types to attack it safely. When it becomes unfrozen the Mushstool will try to flee once again and attempt its mucus-absorbing attack but it won't be able to since it lacks mucus, so it wastes time making more mucus over its body and leaving it vulnerable for even longer. Overall the Mushstool may not be the most dangerous enemy around, but its still quite a annoying foe if left to its own devices, but compared to other sporovids its quite easy to take down.

Attacks Spits balls of adhesive, summons Piklones

The Mushstool is a species of sporovid appearing in Pikmin: Spark. They have a deep blue body with a fleshy cap rounder than those of their brethren. They dwell in damp dens, where they can scatter their sludgy spores freely. When spotting intruders, they spit from their mouthlike orifice balls of sticky slime that slows anything stepping on it. However, the Mushstool's signature ability is to create Piklones, hostile Pikmin-like creatures that assist the creature in hunting. One Piklone is created for every five Pikmin present, and when alone, each time a Piklone is defeated. Piklones attack anything nearby and bring the remains to the Mushstool for it to consume to regain a large amount of health, making them a significant threat. Goo Pikmin are a good choice as the soft body of the Mushstool is weak to explosives and the adhesive can be ignored by their slimy bodies. Upon death they drop the Zesty Capsule, a container of paprika worth HP Sparklium icon.png × 200.

In Ultra-Spicy Mode, Mushstools create two Piklones, rather than one, for every five Pikmin on the field. Additionally, they recall Pikclones that are suffering from a hazard.

Abel's medical journal

Spores act as a disinfecting lubricant. These fungi are very intriguing.

Lyn's sale review

A deep blue hue dominates this fungal beast, and its rubbery texture makes great raincoats.

Sporovids that dwell in damp areas. Similar in behavior to an Onion. Spores are more mud-like in texture.
