The Mechaborb is a boss enemy in Pikmin: Revenge of the Darkfreeze.
Appearance
The Mechaborb has the structural appearance of the standard Red Bulborb, is a metallic yellow color, and the rear has some plates missing, revealing wires and various organs. There is a hatch on both sides with a symbol on them.
Abilities
The Mechaborb attacks like a normal bulborb, but sometimes the hatches on both its sides open and a machine pops out. The machine has a separate health, and produces a single Mechawog over time.
Strategy
Similar to the Mechawog, the armored body is too hard for normal Pikmin to penetrate, but Purple Pikmin can eventually tear apart the armor, enabling you to attack normally. The machines should be destroyed before they can produce any Mechawogs.

Olimar's Notes
So this is the creature responsible for the robotic wollywogs we encountered earlier! This beast is in fact part organic, part machine, so at some point in evolution, a standard yellow bulborb must have fused with a machine. How this happened is still unclear.

Strip apart the metallic components and chop up what's left for an unrivaled bulborb stew. Warning: may have a slight oily taste if not treated properly before boiling.
