The Magmatic Slooch is a species of hypertrophic Slooch appearing in Pikmin Evolution, being the hypertrophic variant of the Pyroclasmic Slooch. Out of all the hypertrophic and neotenic variants in the game, this one, alongside the different types of Jumbo Bulborb and Masterhops, are the closest in terms of appearance. It is basically a giant Pyroclasmic Slooch in between the size of a medium or giant-sized Emperor Bulblax. The Magmatic Slooch can be found in any place holding a sufficiant amount of heat, such as fire or smoke heavy areas. Like the Pyroclasmic Slooch, the Magmatic Slooch leaves a trail of lava behind it, making traversal slower and burning any Pikmin who crosses it, and the only way to clean this lava is to kill the creature. Due to its burning body Elixer Pikmin are the only types that can damage the creature, so they should be the ones to take this on. The Magmatic Slooch has a similar fighting style to the Pyroclasmic Slooch, as expected, but since its so large its tongue is able to eat up to 100 Pikmin with a single lick, making it dangerous to swarm, rather you should attack it by simply tossing Pikmin. The Magmatic Slooch is also surprisingly quick on its feet, being able to perform powerful dashing attacks where it will charge forward and eat anything that enters its mouth, like the tongue attack this can take a lot of Pikmin, 25 to be exact, so be mindful of the dash attack. While it stops this dash when it misses the captain, it can also hit a wall, causing boulders to fall from the sky and crush anyone unfortunate enough to be underneath. The best way to attack a Magmatic Slooch is on the backside as while that doesn't give any increased damage, it does make it harder for it to use its dashing or licking attack. Overall when by itself the Magmatic Slooch is quite an easy boss despite its destructive potential. However the issue is not the fact that the Slooch itself but what it can create, you see some Magmatic Slooches are able to produce natural gas. This [[poison|toxic] vapor will poison anyone who enters it, including captains and Elixer Pikmin, the only types who can physically damage the Slooch. This means captains can only bring Roach Pikmin, who are unable to touch the beast's searing flames. This means the Pikmin are unable to damage the boss directly, so the captains need to attack it indirectly. Throwing a blue or cyan syrup won't work as they will just evaporate in front of the Slooch, so you need to instead cause it to enter a puddle of water, which causes the flames to extinguish and leave the Slooch vulnerable to all attacks. However once attacked the Slooch will roar, causing the puddle it entered to evaporate, meaning you need to lure it into a different puddle to extinguise it once again. Luckily there will always be one puddle that will respawn if all have been emptied, so its not unbeatable. When killed the Magmatic Slooch will remove all the natural gas in the area, making it safe to breath far all Pikmin types, which is especially important since the refuse it drops will always be covered in lava, meaning only Elixer Pikmin can carry it. Overall a very easy fight if alone, but when in the vicinity of a certain other hazard becomes very dangerous.

Notes

Ivy's journal

Normally, a creature becoming hypertrophic means it just become bigger due to a hormone overload, the same fact applies for the Magmatic Slooch as that is just a Pyroclasmic Slooch with a hormonic disability. However the hormones seems to have reacted the creature's intense heat, making it sweat more than it capable of. This has led to some poor individuals to literally smoke out due to the intense strait their flame create, creating a deadly gas that is classified as a grade IV biohazard, so this creature should be avoided at all costs.

Ivy has a point you know, if you shouldn't breath this creatures toxic musk, you shouldn't eat it too.

Marvin's strategy guide

A small bucket of water isn't enough to cool this beast down, no, what you need to do is instead lure it to a torrent of water.
