The Junkpile Crawbster is a medium-sized creep-crab in Pikmin X: Deep Freeze. Rather than having one gigantic claw and one reduced claw, the Junkpile Crawbster has symmetrical, modestly-sized claws. The squat abdomen of this species is covered in a shell made of an assortment of rusted metal debris, which protects its body from harm. Its armored face is also impenetrable to damage.
When the Junkpile Crawbster sees Pikmin or leaders, it curls up into a ball and begins to roll after its target, crushing anything in its path. As it rolls, pieces of its metal armor will flake off behind it, leaving a trail of debris and slowly revealing its soft, vulnerable abdomen to attack. While this debris is harmless, it can obstruct or distract Pikmin. The Junkpile Crawbster can reattach its debris by rolling over it, though it can also attach another Junkpile Crawbster's debris trail to itself as well, should there be multiple Junkpile Crawbsters in close proximity.
While it can be tricked into rolling into a wall just like the Segmented Crawbster, the Junkpile Crawbster's smaller size makes it less susceptible to the impact, as it will simply uncurl instead of becoming stunned. When defeated, any of its metal debris still on the ground crumbles away.
