Ice Pikmin can make bridges of ice and walk over water. They are also the only pikmin to withstand blizzard attacks. They can break open ice blocks that have treasure in them and stuff. Also when thier eaten, the enemy freezes for a short period of time.They appear in Pikmin: Global Breakdown and are found at the Valley of Repose. These Pikmin seem to be made entirely of solid ice. These Pikmin are propagated via Chilly Candypop Buds.

In Pikmin: Adventure of 4

In Pikmin: Adventure of 4, the Ice Pikmin are the 3rd type of pikmin you find, and are found in Snowhead. They are immune to cold based attacks, including cold water - but they can't live in normal water/live thru normal water based attacks. Don't try to take them into water - unless you want them to drown. They look like a pikmin with no face fetchers (but they still have eyes) and have fur all around there necks. They are also an icy blue color.

they look similar in pikmin 4: the wraith's revenge, but darker blue eyes, a snowflake instead of a flower, and the ability to unfreeze their snowflake to rust metal walls, making them breakable, an ice crown, and some parts covered in snow. they literaly can not drown; they immedeatly freeze water upon contact with it, but if too many pikmin that are not of this type go onto the ice platform they create, it sinks, and all non-ice or blue pikmin drown.

Ice Pikmin have the ability to have an ice incasing. When an Ice Pikmin is first sprouted, they are ice-less. However, ice-less Ice Pikmin can 'regrow' a brand new incasing of ice. This will happen if said Pikmin is either in a cold environment, it is snowing, or if it is the next day. When a day ends, every ice-less Pikmin regains a brand new incasing for the next day. When an Ice Pikmin have an incasing of ice, they have the same amount of immunities as Rock Pikmin. They also can break glass and crystals, however, this does chip damage to the incasing. They can also survive in cold waters, and are much better swimmers with an incasing. The fire hazard is the worst hazard for these guys. Their incase takes massive damage, to the point of melting. Also, if caught on fire, will have a significantly shorter time to survive than other Pikmin. Warm waters also melt the ice quicker. If eaten, it'll cause the enemy to have a brain freeze, which may last up to 5 seconds. If it does have an ice incasing, the brain freeze will be longer, and the Pikmin will be spit out.

"I'm still wondering how these Pikmin can create such casing of ice around them. Their main purpose is for protection, of course, but how it is done is very unclear. I have a theory on this, as it may be possible that they have some type of small hairs that collect moisture, and due to the cold environment needed for the casing to appear, will cause the moisture to freeze." - Captain Olimar
