The Herding Aquanine is an early enemy encountered in Pikmin: Echoes of Eternity, found in Placid Plains. It is a dog-like creature with gills and shuttered fin-like features on the side of the torso. It has patterns of cyan fur and dark grey scales on its torso.

It is very mobile, roaming the area at will, but sometimes stopping to rest. When it detects the leaders and Pikmin, it will approach and attempt to lick the leaders, which damages them. As it licks, it releases water out of its shuttered fins, in a puddle all around the element-dog. The best strategy is to throw the Pikmin as fast as possible before it reaches the captains, and to use the electric leader abilities. It is ideal to stun it, so it is immobilized.

Notes

Encyclopaedia animerros

Aquanis Herdata, kingdom Animalia, phylum quammal, class carniterii, family element-dog. This quadrupedal carniterri is a carnivorous heterotroph, eating a diet of mostly Roving Cattleshrooms and Maggrubs. It has adapted to survive in watery environments, but mostly is found on land, instead producing water from its nutrient pool in order to lubricate its skin.
