The fireworm is the first major boss for Pikmin 4 (Wii U). It is found in Silver Lake, and it requires Red Pikmin to defeat it (Cyan Pikmin can be brought, but Reds are recommended)

Notes

"This species of drenchworm uses flammable substances to cover its skin, similar to the fiery bulblax. However, this creature not only has the ability to set its body on fire, it can also shoot fire from its mouth. Due to its intense heat, it is advised that you approach it with extreme caution."

Strategy

Basic Strategy

Since it is the first boss, it is quite simple to defeat. Bringing red pikmin is the best choice. However, it can still eat pikmin, so be careful. Throwing red pikmin at its body is an easy way to damage it. When it attacks, seek cover, you don't have the scorch guard yet. Once it has a quarter of its health left, it will start shooting flaming spit bombs, enough to kill your entire army. Try to avoid the flaming balls of death.

Expert Strategy

A much quicker way to defeat the fireworm is to attack its mouth while attacking, as its head it vulnerable when it is shooting fire. Throwing reds at its head will save a lot of time. This is a hard strategy because YOU are vulnerable to explosive spit bombs. This strategy will help you defeat the boss in under one minute.
