The Dwarf Moldy Bulborb is an unfortunate grub-dog infected by a parasitic mold originating from a Toxstool. Their backsides contain a large clump of poisonous spores which seems to protect the creature from being one-shotted by a direct attack to the back unlike most Dwarf Bulborbs. The Dwarf Moldy Bulborb will release a toxic gas upon being hit on the back, meaning only poison-immune Pikmin such as the White Pikmin can attack that area, though all Pikmin types can attack the sides of the creature as that doesn't release poison gas when struck.

The Dwarf Moldy Bulborb is an unfortunate grub-dog infected by a parasitic mold originating from a Sporovid family member. It is slightly visually upgrades from last time, now taking on a more graying tint to match the grayish-blue color of the mold hazard. They keep the same behaviors of their non-infected members, eat anything that enters its territory. However the Dwarf Moldy Bulborb is noticeably more actively hostile than its non-infected members, being more alert to anyone who crosses its territory. The Dwarf Moldy Bulborb is also more ravenous having a shorter eating time than the other types of Dwarf Bulborbs. However this is all caused by the clump of mold on its back, which has taken the Dwarf Moldy Bulborb's body over and is now controlling it. The mold releases a poison gas when directly struck, meaning only Roach Pikmin can attack that part of its body. However this mold doesn't guard the Dwarf Mold Bulborb's side areas, making all Pikmin types able to attack that area when swarming, though its more ravenous eating may prove to be dangerous. The mold on its back gives it solid protection from being one-shotted by tossing a Pikmin on its back, though it will only around three Roach Pikmin to get the job done so its not much protection. One new addition is that after some time the Dwarf Moldy Bulborb has a chance for the mold on its back to burst open, causing the host to die and disintegrate. This mold will turn into a Toxcap who can spread even more mold around the local area. This means killing the Moldy Dwarf Bulborb is important if you want to maintain the balance in the ecosystem. One of the best ways to do so is to splash water on it, as it causes the mold to be washed off and leave the Dwarf Moldy Bulborb very slow and weak as a result. However using caustic acid may prove to be better as it will instantly kill any Dwarf Moldy Bulborb in the vicinity of the acid, making it the best way to deal with those creatures. Overall a minor nuisance overall, but one that can quickly soil an environment if left alone to its own devices.
